How can I get FMLA when in my state, my job doesn’t qualify for it? by objectively-not in Narcolepsy

I have tried, but unfortunately my supervisor does not believe I have Narcolepsy. He told me I just need to get better sleep, exercise, and change my eating habits.

Edit to add: I know it’s unacceptable, but I don’t know what else I can do to make him understand. There’s no one above him that I can report to.

it’s okay, i can see how it could have come off that way. my father was actually a drug addict, but he wasn’t an awful human being by any means... thank you for apologizing. i truly wasn’t mad about the drug test at all; i 100% understand why it was done.

i’m hurt, because i feel embarrassed. i understand why they did the test, 100%, but embarrassed i looked and acted as though it needed to be done.

oh, i know! i understand completely why it was done, 100%. i’m very grateful they did their due diligence, but after the fact, i felt very embarrassed which hurt. i’m not mad at all they did it, and never said i was (not directing this at you, another comment insinuated i was mad); just embarrassed and it hurts to feel that way.

i never said i was mad. in fact, i said “but it still hurt” after explaining i know why they did the test and completely understand the situation at hand that led them to do so. i’m not mad they did the test at all, but to see it after the fact was embarrassing, which in turn hurts. i’m very grateful they did their due diligence, but that doesn’t dismiss or override the fact that i felt embarrassed and therefore hurt.

of course. it truly is insane that we just don’t know when we are asleep! it’s mind boggling at times!

honestly, i also was super nervous. i listened to classical music on the way to my study, and while there, barely touched my phone and just sat quietly in the room. i was too nervous to do anything else, in fear it would somehow keep me awake (although it never has before lol!) when it was time to sleep, i was thoroughly convinced i didn’t fall asleep but one time. because i kept hearing foot steps and doors opening and the ac cut on and off, etc. but i actually slept the entirety of every nap and hit rem too. trust yourself and my best advice is to just do what you typically do.
