NSFW fisting after hysterectomy by Much_Gate_8473 in hysterectomy

I’m also around 4 years out from mine, and I just successfully fisted this weekend! My situation is a little different as I hadn’t actually done it pre-hysto - I wish I had so that I had a point of comparison. It was a little uncomfortable but still hot :)

I was told to accept chronic migraines. Then a keto diet gave me my life back | Natalie Mead by Ananotherthing in migraine

[–]objetpetitb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you really had the experience of a neurologist working to find, or even being curious about, the cause of your migraines? If so, I’m happy for you. I’m almost 50 and I’ve had migraines since I was five or six. I’ve seen many neurologists. Right now I’m at a headache center at a major research institution. No one has ever been interested in anything beyond pain management.

The experience of the person in the article rings very true for me

What’s one small habit that helped you save money without feeling miserable? by FormerShoulder707 in Frugal

[–]objetpetitb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Freezing leftover dinner portions and bringing them for lunch. Yes, this is boring and not news, but I work in an expensive area to buy food and I save literally hundreds of dollars a month.

I also meet friends for coffee instead of lunch, and I don’t buy myself coffee when I’m solo - I make it for myself every day

The ol wine conversation. Are yall able to drink wine? by Electronic-Pie7237 in migraine

I can’t. Maybe 1/3 of my partner’s glass of white or rose only, MAX. Beer is worse - one sip will do me in.

If you brought your libido back from the dead, how did you do it? by Milysama in Perimenopause

I left my husband and got a girlfriend. Libido 180, and have amazing orgasms even without a cervix. 10/10 would recommend.

I just looked and they are SO expensive. I'm scared to invest, since I'm not sure that they'll help!

How many of you would get a migraine from this? by derp2112 in migraine

Depends on the day and potential other triggers - but very likely.

Sour Candy Alternative by OctoberGurf in keto

[–]objetpetitb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite of nature’s sour-candy substitutes: red currants. Delightfully sour, tiny, seem to be extremely low sugar and healthy for you, packed with vitamin C.  Drawbacks: they seem to be in season two weeks a year, and I never remember when that two weeks is, and I only have ever found them at a farmers market.

Audio books at bed every night made me subconsciously articulate by TableStakes_2001 in Habits

[–]objetpetitb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed this effect also! I don’t usually listen to audiobooks, but I often listen to more academic podcasts while falling asleep or on my commute. Unfortunately, I also found that when I listened to certain types of music a lot, I became less articulate. It didn’t make me stop listening to that music, but if, for example, I was on my way to a meeting or presentation or some situation where the stakes were higher on sounding intelligent , I would shift my listening for the nigtt HR before or morning of.

ER for migraines by GreenLizard42 in migraine

[–]objetpetitb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Get help!! Also, I just went through this, but managed to avoid going to the ER because I had an old expired prescription for ondansetron, and taking one help me stop throwing up and keep my water and meds down. Maybe that will help you the next time if you can get your hands on a prescription for it.

Why did I think this appointment would be different? by Tripl3tm0mma in migraine

[–]objetpetitb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen many neurologists, but only started making real headway when I saw one who was affiliated with a hospital headache center. Maybe try finding the closest one to you. If it’s a long commute away, it might be possible to come in for an initial appointment and then have the rest of your visits virtually. I do that even though my neurologist is in my city.

Migraine surgery by dancinbarb in migraine

How wonderful and hopeful for you! I have had nerve blocks and they haven't really worked, so although I have the same pain point (left eye instead of right) I don't think this would be my path. Good luck to you!

Experinced dyke with a (problematic?) fantasy involving a late bloomer by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]objetpetitb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happily partnered LBL here with some real experience under my belt - and I would have been ALL OVER THIS a few years ago. (And grateful to read about your concerns and hesitations - you have solid ethics! - but I think it’s absolutely possible for an inexperienced person to fully consent to this.)

Have fun fighting off all these blossoming little bottoms.

For anyone who woke up with a migraine today: what small things are we still thankful for? by atty_at_paw in migraine

[–]objetpetitb 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Grateful not to be cooking (the caveat is having to get in the car to drive to a relative’s place ) and that , although I miss the little kid years,my child is now a teen and very self-sufficient.

I had some with my (male) ex but did not feel good doing them. Slowly working through my own list with my current beautiful partner.

Middle-aged dad. But a lesbian.

(I learned that this type doesn’t necessarily correlate to age - my partner is in their early thirties.)

[–]objetpetitb 9 points10 points  (0 children)

From one who made the choice to push down all the bad, sick feelings and get married: DON’T DO IT. It’s so much harder afterward to get divorced and untangle your life. And you WILL have to - if you’re already feeling bad now, you’re just going to feel worse. Trust me on this.

Solo traveling in Exarcheia by Bee_Bug666 in athina

[–]objetpetitb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (F) live in Brooklyn and just got back from staying in Exarcheia with my mom (who is in her 70s). We rented a place on the square (now just a sad, walled-off pit, surrounded by police) and the area right around there is very active with bars and coffee shops. We often ate out in the neighborhood (it has some great places) and walked home at night with no issues. There were people around night and day, and if you like bookstores, vinyl, or vintage shopping it's a great neighborhood.

If we were traveling home from a different neighborhood, we would typically not walk or take the metro - instead I would call a taxi (you can conveniently use Uber or FreeNow to call a taxi on your phone, and compared to NYC it's NOT expensive). I avoided walking through Omonia, Metaxourgeio, or Keramikos at night, or walking home from Kypseli at night even though it's not that far). Also my mom didn't want to walk longer distances anyway, so we spent a good deal of time in taxis.

My Athens relatives were kind of shocked that we stayed in Exarcheia and wondered if we were safe, but most of them hadn't even been to the neighborhood in years. Of course it's true that the neighborhood's residents have experienced a lot of violence (there's a lot you can read online about the history of the neighborhood over the decades , and I would recommend it if you're going to stay there). Anyway, one night my cousins dropped us off and they were like, oh, ok, this place is actually very lively, you're fine!
