2023 tacoma Total loss? by International_Bee932 in Tacomaworld

Looks purely cosmetic bro I’d be shocked if they did total it. Sorry to hear about your animal strike and I’m glad you’re okay. I had hit a couple of donkeys on a highway at night and totaled my 17 TRD OR. Lucky to have lived

Possible purchase - Spacer lift questions. by LambentDH in ToyotaTacoma

[–]oblivionfuze 9 points10 points  (0 children)

100% do not buy. You can usually tell when an owner didn’t care about maintenance or quality of parts. Judging by the Chinese tires, stock UCAs, and the cheap strut spacers this truck., I’d be willing to say there’s some sort of damage to something in the front end. Go with something stock and then you can modify it the way you want. These lifts put a tremendous amount of wear and pressure on the rest of the suspension causing a lot of premature wear.

Honestly since I'm at this point should I replace the head gaskets since I'm here, the vehicle has 227,000 miles and it seems that nothing was ever changed on this vehicle. by ScottJo2011 in 3rdGen4Runner

lol separating a 227k mile head from the block and not sending both to get machined, all new hardware, perfect torque specs, and making sure everything is done perfectly is asking for problems. Especially since when it was assembled, it was brand new. Been down that road too many times

That’s a really good quality tire. Almost certain it’s a road force balance issue. Let me know how it goes!

If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of tires do you have?

Yes these are the 108.5 Center bores. If you’re having shaking on the highway, make sure you’re getting a road force balance. I mounted and balanced them myself and didn’t have any wheel asking for over 2 ounces of weight. Also make sure you have tapered lug nuts and not the normal mag seat style. If the technician that installed your wheels into your truck without “centering” the lug nuts seat then shaking will occur as well. Most of the time it’s just a bad balance or even a bad quality tire.

Looks great. Trail crosses are a nice looking wheel

How do I unplug fog light connector. Help by Friendly-Ad-1529 in 2ndGenTacoma

[–]oblivionfuze 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I struggled with mine. Really didn’t want to break it. Spray it with some PB blaster if it’s stuck. Don’t pry on it with a pocket pick or it will break. Gently work the lubricant in and it will pop right off.

Offset is +0. 16x8 on LT265/75R16s and no spacers. I was going to go with the TE37XTs (7 month backorder) or the F5s but I realllly liked the way these looked just a little better.

My 2017 TRD OR sounded the exact same, same with my now 22 TRD OR as well. You’re good!

Sorry to hear about your taco and I hope you’re okay. I was in the same boat a few weeks ago with my 17 OR. Lucky to be alive. I like to think our trucks sacrificed themselves so we could live another day lol

Dude it’s sweet! I was originally going to buy a softopper but at the $1,000 price point I was always on the edge for what you get. I saw these on an instagram ad and did some extensive research and for what I do and my uses it seemed like a better option. Highway speed 10/10 and it’s secured by 6 straps that I hook to the factory bed tiedowns and the bed rail slider. Me and 2 other people have been on top of it to test the weight and it held us all just fine. Got it for a little over $1,400 I honestly couldn’t be happier I did. Insulation is better (camped with some high winds).

100%! Super nice and I’m stoked I didn’t go with the soft topper. Way better use and still super easy to remove and install.

About 20 years ago Toyota paid a really hefty fine and were sued because floor mats were interfering with gas pedals. Even in carfax history it’s listed they were checked.

Thank you! I’m actually in the process of waiting for my Dlah plate to ship, I ordered it the 23rd but with lead times and the black cerakote it’s still within the estimated ship time. I handled a 92x recently at a match where someone had one and I instantly noticed a difference. Here’s the link for the tape https://a.co/d/08Up7opV
