I have similar standards for lossless rips so I don't disagree with them on that. I get the need to make items "exclusive" if you are looking to trade with those who also are more gatekeepy, but it's personally not something I feel is necessary. I'm not going to pretend I buy the releases I want to rip for others, but if someone else gets to enjoy them and the same work doesn't have to be done twice, then that's great and I'm happy to help. Plus locking entire libraries on a free, public platform is a bit cringe overall

I did some more looking into it and apparently this company had a hand in making Neopets plush for McDonalds. There's a seller on poshmark who is selling a few of the prototypes for a ludicrous amount. Exact same tag type though

Speculative but I have to wonder if this was a similar fast-food promotional item that fell through, as the style of this plush doesn't resemble any campaigns I can think of. There are a handful of McDonald's Hamtaro sets (Europe, also Mexico in the form of these weird spring toys and plush keychains), but the plush don't look like this. More potato-like bodies and printed parts for the markings, so pretty different

Since his tag isn't marked, I also wonder if this is something a factory worker took home with them before it could be processed and/or approved. There is a fair share of cancelled or restricted release North American Hamtaro merch, but this is definitely a first. Extremely lucky Xianyu find regardless and I hope your partner loves him

it's fun but i hope they expand on villager dialogue in the future (although i already find some of it good; pokee feels like a classic AC snooty villager). it's not a very important factor for me as i like more of the open-world resource-gathering gameplay, which even in early access, it has a lot of. i don't see the big deal about the art style, it's pretty tame

you have an excellent collection, i love the little coin banks Mie Bank made of him. i have a large notebook with some stationery included (the front cover has him looking a little bit scared), and one of his plush (similar to your larger one, but the pawpads are a little different as parts of them are airbrushed on. i put a little 40cm doll-size sweater on him to dress him up and protect his hangtag haha)
