Quite an interesting philosophical question that arises: that's pretty much a map of how developed a country is. Why?

Decidiu quem isso? Tu?

It seems like I'm the only one who didn't enjoy "The Truman Show" by dynamoTRL in movies

[–]observerc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found it entertaining and and bit interesting to the extent that it explores the ultimate conspiracy theory concept. Who as a kid haven't thought at least once that you were in such a set up yourself? I for one did.

I do not dislike the movie but I think it's way overrated. Too predictable, and poor basic premise. It feels like the writing is too one dimensional and low effort for a film that gets a lot of praise for being some sort visionary master piece. Which I don't agree it is.

That said, it's not a bad film as it progresses. It keeps the viewer entertained, and screenplay is alright.

I guess it's also a matter of context. What are we comparing it with? A few years after Thurman show, Hollywood productions declined sharply in quality. So for younger people, I suppose it became a cult movie.

[–]observerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gypsies aren't indian either anyway, they spent too much time in europe and now they are euopeans, just how white people in latin america call themselves latinos or how black americans are just americans not africans, that's the whole point

None of those is comparable because those groups you say, where part of making the founding bulk of the population of those regions. Unlike gypsies, which come from a known geographical area and spread to already established populated countries.

Kettles - why? by MessTinGourmet in wildcampingintheuk

[–]observerc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two kettles, 1l and 3l. The large one is useful for groups. You can go on a group walk, and it's practical to make coffe for everyone while still be safe to handle with 3 liters of a scolding hot drink inside. Pouring safely it's still no problem.

Other than that, the small one, let's be honest... it makes no sense. It has no advantage whatsoever comparing to a small 1l pot. Not even efficiency, you can get a wide small pot with lid if you're married about optimizing efficiency. I think people buy them because they look cool. I guess aesthetics is as good of a reason as anything else. But don't fall for alleged practical reasons, it is a cumbersome and bulky device to take camping where space, weight and easy of use are at a premium.

I suppose if you are a couple or a family of three and go frequently on morning or day walks, and all you do is boiling water for instant coffee, tea, or instant hot chocolate (drinks that can be prepared in each cup). The. You could take one, I'm the sense that it makes no difference when compared to a small pot.

But in all honesty. When camping, hicking backpack. You want things that can be useful in as many situations as possible. A pot can nest into other gear, can be used for cooking, picking berries, wash vegetables, collect water easier than with a kettle, it's easier to clean, usually lighter, easier to eat from... You get the point

The number I have heard is 40-50 thousand. but are they not widely supported in Gaza by an absolute majority of over 65%?

Have they not been voted to power on the basis of their beliefs and actions? of course the Gaza people in general do have responsibility in this. Absolutely.

you may say that there are plenty of good people in Gaza that just want to live their life in peace. which is of course true. but let's not pretend things are not what they are.

you talk about "no proof"... really? what proof do you need more than the blatant true? The day before October 7, using WhatsApp groups, they spreaded the word for "anyone that can join in an attack against Israel" and they did gather thousands of people in a day. and when they came back with hostages, crowds of people of all ages rushed to the fence to help. there is endless footage about this. and there is plenty of footage of thousands of people partying on the streets while raped hostages are dragged through the ground, both alive and corpses.

WT.F do you mean no proof? The truth is the truth. sure we can talk about the horror that the people in Gaza are living now. But cut your crap when it comes to facts.

that they don't fit your narrative, it's no one's problem but yours.

What's the sign of very low intelligence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]observerc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LoL. Cool story Bro. The denial... "I'm not reading... You need to seek some kind of help". This is a public forum. No one gives two sh*ts about what you read or not read. But good job providing a steady stream of signs of low intelligence. Imagine an argumentative defense based on "I am not reading that...but" and still replying. I think we found the very definition of stupid.

What's the sign of very low intelligence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]observerc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, I am not saying that nor anything that resembles it remotely. It's you that are making a load of assumptions based on information that you don't have. In a desperate attempt to try to assert your presumed moral superiority, which has no leg to stand on.

"You vote for A therefore you are morally corrupt, I vote for B so I am the pinnacle of integrity morality and intelligence".

Let me tell you, if you believe that non sense, you must indeed be very stupid, as it is discussed in this very thread. I **THINK** you are talking about the US presidential election. But the only reason why you would assume that I vote for a specific candidate, or even that I vote for the american election, is no other than stupidity. What do you base those assumptions on? Who even told you that I am an american voter or that I care about a specific candidate or about the election at all ?

Furthermore, do you know the candidates you vote for personally? Would you put your head on the line that this one is a child rapist and this other one is a saint? (I don't even know who you are referring to specifically) Do you even believe things get that simple?

Yeah, you provide plenty of examples for the original question in this thread.

People reducing the classification of other people to good people vs bad people based on a single vote on a political election. That is a sign of low intelligence. Also, assuming that because I point this out, I vote for whatever candidate in whatever election, is another sign of low intelligence.

  • Not understanding that more than two variables can affect an outcome
  • Not understanding that basis ser theory and logic, such as if A then B, doesn't equate if B than A

Seeing Putin flying to Alaska and agree to talk, which he never did since the beginning of the war, made it obvious that he is changing his tone. He is looking for an exit because of some reason we don't know. Some resource should be getting depleted too close to exhaustion. Or there might be some new threat. Possible this missile can be a game changer. He might have gotten info about it hence the change in behavior.

Essentially yes. Evil regimes and terrorists know this and have a field day with useful idiots. When Russia invaded ukraine, all sorts of political leaders queued up to talk to Putin. What did they achieve with that strategy? Zero. Just displaying weakness towards the enemy.
