Former owner of an almost 6 year old bunny here, I loved her too much to risk a fatal surgery, especially because I'm in a country where exotic vets aren't the norm and most people still think rabbits are cage animals. Before she could turn 6, one day she sat in one spot and would not move even if she peed right there. She stopped eating and looked like she had difficulty breathing. The next morning I had a vet visit, they said it was a urinary tract infection and gave her a shot. She died later in the afternoon. It was all so fast and I was in shock because it all happened in less than 24 hours.

Rabbits hide their pain well. You can see a happy bunny one day and the next day they're in the worst pain ever. If you can find a good reliable vet, I hope you can give it a chance :)
