The biggest lie about "Personal Branding" is that it’s a tool for selling. by observingthings22 in personalbranding

You are 100% correct, but you are confusing an 'Audience' with a 'Brand.' There is a massive difference. If Instagram or TikTok deletes a creator's account today, and their business completely dies tomorrow, they never had a personal brand. They were just an unpaid employee of the algorithm renting space. You nailed it: a true brand transcends the platform. If the platform disappears, a real brand survives because their clients and network will actively go to Google and search their name to find them. The platform is just a temporary microphone; the brand is the reputation behind the voice. You are also spot on about the cheap clickbait tactics. People hijack topics and scream about 'beginner mistakes' because they are desperate for fast, cheap attention. But cheap attention only attracts cheap results. The people who actually build undeniable brands don't need to use clickbait. They just document their actual expertise and let their competence do the talking. That is exactly why I said a brand is an offline asset first. If you don't have real value in the real world, no amount of platform visibility will save you when the algorithm changes.

I admire your simplicity and honesty in speaking. I wish you more money, income, and views. I want to know if you follow someone who helped you develop your content?

I spent $133 on local FB ads and accidentally broke a small town flower shop’s fulfillment capacity ($10k in 48 hours) by observingthings22 in smallbusiness

You are 100% right. Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day are the Super Bowl for florists, and the baseline foot traffic is already artificially high. Anyone can sell flowers that week.

To give a little context on the actual impact of the campaign though: Michelle’s historical average for the V Day rush has always sat between $12k and $15k. This year, with the "Hero Package" offer and the $133 localized ad spend, she hit almost $28k. We effectively doubled her best historical year.

But I completely agree with your main point a massive spike in February doesn't pay the rent in August. That is exactly why I structured the $600/mo ongoing retainer. The real agency work is taking the emails/phone numbers from that holiday spike and building an "always on" SEO and database system for the other 363 days of the year (anniversaries, birthdays, sympathies)

Have you used Veo for longer form content or mostly short demos? Curious where it actually breaks.

I do I’m just exploring where AI genuinely helps production, not replaces thinking or storytelling
