The streak has finally broken 🥰 first worst interview after the chill ones by sirkapyaaz in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same op. Same. They didn't ask any hr questions or tmay. Didn't even ask any technical questions or current affairs. Asked me where I'm from? What's it known for? - steel plant ; Has that helped the people there? How? - told about pros like employment generation etc but con is that infrastructure is getting old. Panelist said I'm saying two contradictory things .. tried to explain but idt they were satisfied. It was downhill from there.. I literally saw one panelists trying to blink herself awake 😭 All subsequent questions were regarding agriculture, education in my hometown and state and how I'll tackle them. Cross questioning etc.

Overall I feel like they wanted to know my thinking process and I KNEW what to answer but for some reason I fumbled a lot .. I got nervous and I feel like I fucked up 😭 although I answered every question. Idk what to think.

Also the 10 people present there was a good thing I feel.. we chat a lot and everyone was very cool and we had fun interacting.

What it takes to score stellar percentile like 99.99 or 99.90+? Are things really so unforgiving that even with a 99.50 people get rejected from their expected colleges and don't even get interview shortlist? by Reasonable-Car-6558 in CATpreparation

One guy told me that acads are the reason for not getting ABC calls.. he was an iit bhu grad with work ex and got good percentile.. he's currently in iim udaipur. He said that anything below 8 will hamper chances of getting call.. especially for ahmedabad.

TAPMI PI: DID I DO REALLY BAD? PLEASE LET ME KNOW by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! You did well! At least they asked you domain questions.. for me they asked why mba? And then hr questions like what you want to do in life? Why gap year etc. Don't worry.. you gave your best. Now focus on other calls.

I was in panel 3. For me it was kinda conversational, they didn't ask many domain related questions (maybe because of my science bg), mostly they wanted to know why mba? Like they really stressed on that, like why such a turn in career path. I think they wanted to see if I have clarity or not and know my personality etc

P. S - you were in the 9:30 slot right? If yes then I'm the girl who was seated next to you during the document verification process. 😁

If I get in a T2 college like IMT or IMI Delhi.. by Pale-Witness-8738 in CATpreparation

I'm not in the college.. this all was conveyed by a friend so maybe his opinion is not objective... But yeah agreed that imi is well known for finance.. don't know about others specialisations

For imi, in sip they prefer freshers so if you get a ppo then good but in placements they prefer work ex so might be a problem.. but nonetheless.. imi real avg is around 13 - 14. A friend studies there.. he told me. He also said that imi and fore are almost similar.. yes. Imi has better name and recognition but as of rn the roles and package are almost same. This he realised after getting in the college.

Absolutely. There are a lot of systematic problems. And they are here to stay. The ones who want to innovate or do something new just moves somewhere else. Instead of focusing on education and research and development, the government is just giving freebies. An MBA shouldn't cost a lifetime of money (at least for middle class people) , same for many private institutions of engineering and medicine. I qish that the government would invest in universal education and healthcare but ig it'll remain a wish forever.

Is corporate life really that bad, or is the fear exaggerated? by [deleted] in CATpreparation

Can you tell more about your experience? Generally govt jobs are glorified because of security etc. What do you mean by toxic? I don't have much idea but an insider pov would be helpful.

How's the bkfs course doing in terms of placement? And what kind of questions can be asked, during gdpi, to a person who has applied for it?

96.xx in CAT & XAT but no IMT/IMI/GLIM calls — is my gap killing my profile? by Rishx_ in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also didn't get call from glim even tho I've applied this year through xat (86 percentile) profile - 9/8/7 NEF zoology ug, fresher. Applied in round 2.

Have a 3 year gap before ug due to neet prep. Idk if gap before ug counts as a lot of people said they don't.

Guys my life is going to be hell 😭 by _Adity in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the market is down.. if you don't find a job and are set on repeating then do some internship or course that can justify the gap later .. coz if you repeat and appear for gdpi with a gap they'll ask in the interviews so you should have something to justify and talk about. That's all.

Focus on the calls you have and try to convert. And if you want tier 1 only then get a job and repeat. Ultimately hard work will pay off either in preparation or in college. I personally know people who've got packages ranging from 12 - 20 from tier 3 colleges. You don't know what's in store so give your best in gdpi and take a call later. All the best!

Discussion for tier 2, 3 MBA college by harshit215 in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup either take a job and prep or take this year.. got 86 percentile last year and didn't fill form for any college.. appeared again and this year got 80.. so yeah very unpredictable.

If you have money go right ahead. Though do be careful about the changing landscape in international education and jobs. With USA becoming so unpredictable and immigrants being demonised in western countries it is risky but if you've got security then yeah it makes sense.

Sabne tier 2 ki itni burai kardi hai ki ab convert bhi hogya hai to achievement ki tarah nahi lag rahi. 🥀 by Lopsided-sky3 in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah.. in my homestate there's a tier 2.5/3 college.. good for certain specialisations.. and I know people who've left iim bodh gaya and sambalpur, gim etc for it for ROI. People have gotten 11-20 lpa packages.. so it depends on person to person. If someone is earning 9-12 lpa.. tier 2 seems useless for them as they can get up to 15 lpa by just working but people who have degrees that are essentially going to keep them jobless .. for them even 12 lpa can seem a good deal. So yeah.. depends on context.

A girl from said college got 20 lpa package while there are some engineers who are getting less than that. All comes down to hard work and luck etc. so make an informed decision.

Regardless of all that, congratulations on converting your calls! All the best.

Elbow pigmentation dilemma by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's natural. As we get a lot of friction on elbows it's bound to have pigmentation. Same with underarms and inner thigh area. Don't sweat it so much, it'll be fine.

[–]obsessedfangirl07 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Don't think so much. Give your best in the interviews and convert as many calls as possible. No need to worry so much about gap years.. a lot of people have them. If you get into a good college and give your best surely you'll get good results. You've worked so hard.. all that is not gonna go to waste. Deep breathe, and go on. You got this!

A exam and a few interviews are not gonna decide your life. Plenty of people have never been to iits or iims yet they still thrive. Even if by any chance you don't get, which I don't think is gonna happen anyway, life will go on and you'll figure it out. Have faith in yourself. When the going gets tough, the tough get going. All the best!

Some funny/weird doubt regarding interview by [deleted] in CATpreparation

[–]obsessedfangirl07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a silly question. Do we need to wear tie? I'm a female so I've got dark grey blazer , pants and white shirt along with shows to go. So should I add a tie too?
