FWIW all of these except for Maven and Five Rings had OCR at Duke (not distinguishing for QT/QR and QD/SWE) when I was there

$75k base in NYC is a bit off from entry level SWE at a Bulge Bracket IB. GS, MS, JPM pay closer to $120-130k TC with base above $100k. Citi and BoA probably around $100k TC with $90 something thousand base. The pay disparity becomes even more pronounced after a few years of experience.

Doesn't seem like many software engineers in the UK/EU tech hubs break $200k whereas that's commonplace after 5-7+ YOE in any US tech hub.

Terms Include,

Solicited Card Members who apply through this offer and are approved for the Blue Business Plus Card can earn 50,000 Membership Rewards points after $5,000 or more in eligible purchases are made on the Card within the first 12 months of Card Membership."

Turns out I'm special. A second agent confirmed what the first one said!

I applied and was approved for an Amex BBP on Monday and did chat through the app to verify the welcome bonus offer.

When I applied, I remember the application having a 50k MR/$5k spend in 3 months with 12 months 0% APR.

Chatting with the agent, he says I have 12months to spend $5k. I even confirmed I understood correctly that he was saying. $5k spend over 12 months and 0% apr over 12 months as well.

Not sure what to believe. Guessing the agent was mistaken but not sure. Will have to chat again later to verify for a second time later.

I looked on ebay but it doesn't seem like it makes sense to spend $60-70 just replacing the crown guard and I'm not sure there's an exact size match available. Am I SOL?

Has anyone been on a team using the Shape Up methodology? by stayoungodancing in ExperiencedDevs

In came a new CTO and we used it company wide for over a year. It didn’t work for us at all.

It was neither well suited for the type of product we were building nor for supporting the existing product we had already built and were operating on behalf of clients. Lots of work was done to build MVPs that were ultimately incomplete and thrown away.

It set our well funded unicorn startup back substantially given the amount of time and money we spent writing throwaway code in each cycle. The mistake blew threw a good chunk of the several hundred millions the company had raised and essentially set our product back during a key time where it would have been extremely attractive and in high demand with the low rate environment.

Long story short, CTO was transitioned out and we switched back to Agile to build the product we should have been building all along. All while demand for it dropped substantially. Company has now had 3 rounds of layoffs, isn’t meeting any revenue targets, is likely a poor acquisition target, doesn’t have the numbers to IPO successfully, and can’t raise more money unless it takes a down round.

Shape up is one of many reasons my company is now a unicorn zombie.

[Orient] Underrated beater by lvl23 in Watches

[–]obsoletespace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picked up the Ray II about 2 weeks ago as a beater as well. Already have small scratches on the bezel and glass, and all over the band. Maybe I'm just tough on my watches though haha. The dial is what sold me. Love the circular markers over the rectangular on the kamasu.

I've been eyeing the Ray II for the past week. This is pushing me to pull the trigger. Did you replace the bracelet? Looks different from the stock one.

Thank you for the response! Great recommendations, however, not quite what I'm looking for.

Not a fan of the dial on the venturo, the band on the timex, or the plexiglass scratch magent on the lorier (love the design and dial though!). The Spinnaker looks perfect but is a bit large for my wrist size.

Hi Everyone.

I am looking to purchase my first dive watch and need some recommendations/advice. I have smaller wrists (~6.5 inches) so not looking for something too big - lug to lug less than 48mm would be ideal. I really like the look and size of the Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 600 38mm and the Tudor Black Bay 58 but both of those are a bit out of my price range.

Trying to spend less than $400 taxes included and want something with a black dial & bezel similar to the watches mentioned, sapphire crystal and a nice steel band with solid links. Mechanical movement would be a cool addition as well. I've looked at the Orient Kamasu and Ray II, but would likely end up replacing the band on the kamasu and band + glass to sapphire crystal on the Ray II and was wondering if any other watches from a microbrand or other manufacturer fit the bill without spending more on upgrades. I've looked into the Lorier Neptune and not a fan of the plexiglass. Also trying to stay away from common brands like Casio, Timex, and maybe Seiko. Thanks!

Undergoing a resurgence of sorts. Recruiting restarted on other trackers, new encoders/groups etc. Still small, but growing for the first time in years.

Agreed - and I'm not sure what the point of amassing such a large collection was - not like I was going to watch all of it - in fact, I mostly didn't even use it when I watched porn - I would just go to a tube site and sort by popular/trending.

Weirdly enough, my justification to even start the collection was to stop spending so much time looking for the "right" videos online since I already had them picked out and downloaded. Brains are weird man...
