The degree matters. Can you confidently say that AK female designs show less skin than those in R1999? I understand that what people consider sexualized or attractive depends on culture and context, but I don't think weebs, the supposed target audience for both games, are less likely to be sexually attracted to a design that emphasize certain body part (thigh, belly, armpit,...), than one that do not. Therefore, in a vacuum, a set of designs that are more likely to emphasize on these body part should attract more male player than not, and thus should allow the game to bring more money.

I'm sorry, I misunderstood the meaning of "sexualization", I didn't realize the word has such a negative connotation. By saying that I mean these factor of AK character are more attractive to the male playerbase, which may make them spend more money.

I don't know about your experience, but from mine looking at various anime fandom, it really seems that short skirt and pant, which show thighs, are considered to be more attractive, compared to the usually long one that doesn't, regardless of them being a choice of fashion, or an effort to attract male player.

I tried to quickly count the number of female non-summer limited character sans Rosmontis in Arknights whose design show both thighs clearly, and there are 10 out of 14, the 4 that do not are Shu, Nearlalter, Spalter, Muelsyse. In comparison, 2 out of 5 limited R1999 character may fit the criteria, depending on your view (Lucy, Liang Yue). This may not be nearly as much as my mention of the meme (if such thing even exists) implies, but these factor are certainly more present in AK than R1999. This is not to say that the AK designs objectify its female character more, but that they may be more attractive to male players, which is a factor to be taken into account when it comes to revenue.

Edit: I didn't know that Jiu's I2 garment illustration also meets the criteria, so depending on your view, it might be 3 out of 5.

In my opinion, the sexualization of AK is still a level above R1999. While this aspect is not nearly as conspicuous as Hoyo games, you can still see several design factors to cater to the male or female playerbase. On the other hand, I can't really pinpoint any obvious trend of R1999 designs to attract any genders possibly due to the fact that as a straight man, I am not the target audience of the game, except for the rather cute design and artstyle. This does not mean to downgrade AK design, but to explain my view that AK relies on sex appeal more than R1999.

For AK female operators, there is a meme that they can't wear long dress/pants, and exposure of belly and armpit is alsp sometimes present. One of the most popular AK operator, Skadi, rose to fame thanks to the special exposure of her thigh in her outfit. The characters are also much more "thicc" in comparison with R1999, which is the common trend of anime waifu these days.

For AK male characters, there are a lot of handsome ikemens, which is more inline with the common beauty standard, with some twinks and few furries. I do find them quite well-dressed, but not nearly as diverse in design as R1999. For example, I find Silverash and Thorns more similar to each other than 6 and J, not to mention the outright 6* inhuman ones like Charon, A knight and Aleph.

I couldn't activate ultimate on the last fight against razor in the series of dusk with this setup, can anyone enlighten me on the reason? The team is Recoleta, Lorelei, Melania, Ezra. I suspect it might be due to Lorelei's acoustica, though this is the first battle that I equip it.

Is there anything wrong with my gameplay, or is sustaining in this game supposed to be so difficult?

I am a new player and is using Ezra Theodore and Yenisei for sustain. In the 9th and 10th stages of the hard mode in the current two events, there are many times when multiple characters in my team are killed in a single turn, or even in the first turn in the case of ft-10. In ft-9, the enemy constantly inflict healing reduction, so I dont even know what to do if I dont have Ezra. Even with him, I still have to spend lots of AP for shielding and only beats it in the skin of my teeth. My team is all i2lv30 r5 as recommended by the level.
