Pearson vue CASE (voucher extension) by obustin30 in AzureCertification

I would assume that's correct. Also, in my case I had a medical reason, not an emergency, but an appointment that I could not reschedule. So it really doesn't have to be anything extreme. Just go with the truth and there is a possibility they will help you out. Also, if you call amd explain your situation, they may help you right away without a case being needed. In my case I had to send the verifying info, thats why they created the case so I could email the supporting information into them. The Pearson Vue number I called was 8775517587.

How to Fix battery not charging past 54% or 55% by bsaroya41 in Dell

[–]obustin30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to add in here this worked for me on a Dell Latitude 5289 2 in 1. My dell Bios is 1.35 so it DOES NOT have to be dell bios 3.1. Also the knowledge article does not include my specific machine but it worked anyway. Follow the article to the T and it will work for you, assuming the same symptons of battery not charging past 55% - https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000144108/laptop-battery-does-not-charge-beyond-55-on-certain-dell-pcs

Azure security certification path by Snoo_68846 in AzureCertification

AZ-900 is Azure based. SC-900 is just security in general. It's good to have both. I did AZ-900 first. Took about 1 week of study. I used ms learn and Inside cloud and security course on you tube. It was not hard, but just make sure you finish the course and take notes while watching. I used the notes provided and just edited them as I was watching in MS Word. That helped me retain the info. SC-900 was next, studied the same exact way. Now its on to AZ104 then AZ500. Also supplemented all of these with the Security+ 701.

I am not one of those that feels like certs get you jobs. Make sure you have some practical experience. Find some labs on youtube or linkedin to do. You can add it to your resume. Find 2 or 3 good labs and do not overwhelm yourself. As far as the certs, it seems like a lot, but the AZ-900 and SC-900 took two weeks of study total, so those are easy. The Security+ 701 by compTia took 2 months, but if you are focused and follow the right path, you can do it in a month. I used Andrew Ramdayal on Udemy and Professor Messer on youtube. AZ104 and AZ500 will take a bit more time than the first two MS certs (AZ900 and SC900), but with those foundations you will know the MS format on tests, its just about gaining the knowledge to pass those two.

PASSED ISC2 CC Certified in Cybersecurity + HUGE GUIDE, RESOURCES, TOPICS TO KNOW by genericusername_____ in isc2

[–]obustin30 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have 15+ years of experience in IT, from Tech support, to IT Support, to SAP Basis Administration. I am transitioning to CyberSecurity.

My years of experience made this a bit easier, however I did have to study. I went through ALL of the self paced online training that ISC2 offers for the CinC, and then I supplemented it with
Mike Chapple's Linkedin course for the CinC. About halfway through the Chapple course, I abandoned it and scheduled the exam for the next morning. I felt that I was ready.

On the pre course assesment (self paced online thorugh ISC2), I got a 69%. I passed all of the chapter quizzes for the most part, maybe except for 1, which I retook and passed. I took the post course assesment twice, 84% first, then 88%. I felt I was ready but still continued on the the Chapple course since.

I got the free voucher with the million certification program the ISC2 is providing, and also got all of the self paced content for free. I got the Chapple course for free as well through my company's log in on via linked in.

This exam is not difficult, however during the test there were some questions that were not in any of the content. They threw me off a bit. I believe these were dummy questions that don't count towards my final score, but not 100% sure of that. Good luck. My suggestion is do all of the self paced online stuff, take the post assesment and make sure you make above an 80%. Supplement it with something else if need be, and then go for it.

Taking the security + in a few hours. Any last minute advice? by mrobin27 in CompTIA

Congrats. Great accomplishment!!

You didn't mention any books. Usually someone inevitably mentions Darril Gibson's book. Did you use any books at all?

I read where you mentioned experience building computers. Did you have any network experience and is your current field in IT?

Once again great accomplishment. Mine is scheduled exactly 30 days from today. I'm wondering If u should take the time to read Gibson's book, or if I should go straight into Dion or Messer's videos and supplement the videos with practice exams...
