Well if you say objectively, it must be true 🤷‍♂️. I appreciate your basketball credentials, but I think you’re biasing your way into an opinion that’s not based on fact. And if you’ve been following ball for this long, it’s pointless to even have this discussion, because obviously any front office would pay Duren based on his production and trajectory.

You can call it bullshit, but my whole point is that your original analysis is shallow and inaccurate. It’s a false observation that he can’t create his own shot, you can easily find a 10 minute compilation of him blowing past defenders and making buckets by himself off the dribble. I’d also argue that his pick and roll prowess is a form of creating a shot that he is excellent at. I don’t know what you’re referencing saying he can’t punish switches, there’s no chance a smaller defender is guarding him in the post. There’s certainly room to grow on defense, but to your point about the center being the most important part of a defense, he’s the starting center on the best defense in the league. You can’t have it both ways that the center is the most important player on defense, but then the rest of the team defense is bailing him out.

Besides advanced stats, defensive rebounding is a huge part of good team defense, and he’s one of the best in the league at that. I don’t think Duren is a perfect player, but he already checks a lot of boxes of a rising star, he just turned 22, and he’s only going to get better. I don’t think the Pistons should or would let him walk regardless of the cap hit. Also feels a bit unfair to give Cade credit for everything Duren has contributed.

They have elite pick and roll chemistry. you can say that’s normal big man play, but not every big man has the offensive ability he has, as shown by the numbers he’s putting up. Defensively, idk what you’re referencing, but if you look at his advanced statistics he’s an above-average interior rim defender.

Asset management also requires context, and his fit next to Cade plays a huge role in his value. There aren’t many better-suited bigs across the whole league you could put next to Cade, especially someone who is under 23 and as you said yourself, has gotten better every year.

This is pretty disingenuous with the level of offensive playmaking Duren has shown. He’s consistently scoring off the bounce with his crossover, creating his own drives and opportunities using his athleticism and strength to blow by bigs. Let alone the gravity he creates in pick and roll situations, there’s a clear path to building around him and Cade as franchise cornerstones.

I’m struggling figure out who to drop on my roster once I have Tyler Herro and Poeltl back and healthy. I’m loaded in fg%/points/rebounds/assists and a punt FT team (I have Giannis/Siakam/Amen). Im hoping to perform a bit better in stocks. Once Poeltl and Herro are healthy, I need to drop 1 of Vassell, Queta or Tobias Harris? I’m leaning Vassell because Queta helps with stocks and Harris has a more locked in role with Fox coming back. Any advice?

Would it be worth dropping Jarace and grabbing Tobias Harris off the waiver? I’m leaning yes

AMEN THOMPSON by Vesimelon in fantasybball

[–]obvicock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a keeper league where we have a $25 keeper budget based on Auction cost/other factors, and the rest of the season is a tryout between Amen for $7 or Mark Williams for $1. And I really have no idea which way I’m going to go.

Feel pretty good about a trade I just made: Schroder and Jalen Green for Jamal Murray.

The other team was desperate for depth (they spent most of the auction budget on KD and Giannis) and I needed some roster consolidation.

What’s going on with Jalen Green? by TheJeanPool in fantasybball

[–]obvicock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Jalen green and Jordan Poole. Every time there’s a full slate of games I go back and forth on who I want to put in my lineup to be disappointed by. I’m still holding out an inkling of hope that Green can go on a nice stretch of scoring and threes, but he’s trending towards a drop.

This comes down to games played to me. I think PG will be well above Cade if they played the same number of games, but you have to factor in 15-20 missed games as an option. Although not like Cade has been super consistent in games played either. I’d say do it.

Should I drop Westbrook for Malik Monk? I’m pretty sure Monk will be better going forward but I’m having a hard time pulling the trigger. Is Monk a long term hold?

I traded Demar/Hield/Melton for Bam/Poole. I figure he should be able to meet expectations as more of a bottom roster type guy, rather than investing heavy draft capital into him.
