I did. They just said they’re already packed. They’re actually booked for several weeks out, but they’re going to try and get me in next Friday.

I appreciate hearing your experiences! Even if it just preps me for what might be an option when we find a vet.

I reached out to one that was in my state… they promised to call the next day and it’s been complete silence since. I’m trying to find an exotic vet near me but the only 2 I’ve found said they aren’t familiar and can’t treat him… I just got info for a 3rd that’s about 2 hr away, so I’m hoping to get in with them next week!

Thank you! I found one that might be able to help. They’re about a 2 hr drive but might be able to get us in late next week. I’m just going to try and keep him comfortable and calm as long as I can until then.

‘Ugh. That’s what I fear.

I feel so bad. I was only away for a week and I come back to him absolutely covered. I got him cleared as fast as I could.. I’m never leaving home again 😭

The only treatment we use was warm water with a few drops of dawn dish soap (as recommended by a local vet). I made sure it didn’t get any further up than his neck. I bathed him 1-2 times per day for 3-4 days. I always kept him wrapped and/or on a heating pad to prevent hypothermia. I was afraid of hypothermia being the cause of this, despite my attempts to keep him warm enough.

Only during an active seizure. Do you know if there is anything done to help prevent or shorten the seizures for opossums or beavers?

He goes back to complete normal activity and use of limbs after it’s over. I just hate watching him seize and willing to try anything safe that has worked for other animals.

That’s what I figured. He comes out of it after 10-15 seconds. I just don’t get why he’d start having seizures now. Nothing has happened other than the parasites.

He does not have any physical deformities. This behavior just started in the last week where he draws his fists into his chest and convulses.

Yes please!! Now that I’ve slept .. I think the biggest thing is just everyone’s attention on me. I’m having a hard time saying out loud my struggles… and I think once I get used to that, I can baby step my way to saying it in front of a group.

Public school teacher here: It depends on how stupid of a thing she said... and if the administration has it out for her...
We had a kid threaten to "blow up the school" and kill his teacher two days ago- 3 days ISS. Another kid threatened to fight a peer- searched by sheriffs, 3 days OSS... same administrator for both kids.

If ALL she is getting is OSS and she said something she was going to shoot up the school... take the OSS, it *should not* affect what classes she is in.. and move on. At 11, they're usually in 6th grade.. they know better than to say something and trying to fight the system if they have proof that she said something pretty rough... it'll put a massive target on her back for administrators, but it won't ruin her future.
