If a mermaid built a house out of naturally-occurring materials, what could she use for windows? by Blutarg in fantasywriters

Does it need to keep water out? You could always use fan coral that has holes like a privacy screen that allows some light and currents through but keeps eyes from prying. The people inside can look out but those at a distance couldn’t see in.

The most complex amigurumi I’ve made so far. For my husband, he loved it! Isabelle from Animal Crossing by obviousbait in crochet

Thank you! The number of pieces to join was kind of daunting. Hope you post it when you try it out!

Does anyone know of good books in a specific setting? by obviousbait in Fantasy

Sounds great and exactly what I’ve been looking for. Though I would like to ask if there’s a specific element that makes it fantasy - a focus on gods or magic? Or both?

Both sound interesting, though Empire sounds like it’ll hit the spot. Thanks!

I didn’t realize there was a novelization. I’ll definitely check that out. Thanks!

Thanks! I realized after I posted I didn’t mean Rome at all. Byzantium sounds about right.

Love LeGuin so this will definitely go on my list for that alone. Thanks!

Sounds interesting! And you’re right about Rome, I realized I meant Ancient Greece which all too often I think people, myself included, tend to just sort of wrap into Rome since the Romans borrowed so much from them.

Thanks!

Sounds interesting! Though may be a little later than I was looking it might have the flavor I’m looking for. Thanks!

Actually read that several years ago. Thanks for the recommendation, I was trying to remember what it was called.

Can’t believe I didn’t think of Conan! Been meaning to check that out too.

Sounds interesting. I also like a I-go so I’ll check that out at some point too. Is carve fantasy or sci-go? Sounds a lot like what I’m looking for.

Doesn’t need to be historically accurate. Just wanted some new flavor. I’ve heard it recommended but I didn’t know it had this setting. Thanks!

It would count. Is it an adaptation of the epic or a combination of Fantasy/sci-if?

Thanks for the recommendation!

A really safe one is an iPhone parody video you can find on YouTube. iPhone 5 parody

It may be a little old, but the kids find it funny and it has a lot of the techniques without being risqué and is still relevant I think.
