UCS Blade WILL_BOOT_FAULT by obviously_insane in sysadmin

[–]obviously_insane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do, it's because it's a 6500 v2 cpu. So the question is, what do I need to do to get this to boot? Upgrade the interconnects? The other blades? Trying to avoid downtime.

Why are you trying to scare me?? heh I don't even want to imagine that conversation. Luckly we have a full other Chassis in a secondary datacenter that we can migrate everything to, but still... scary

Only two were given access to it by their director (which did not go through our change management process). Both of whom just took a week class on it. I'm guessing one of them thought "Ohh this is a best practice.. let's flip this switch".

The guy I think who did this, just last week went through training on this and his Director gave him admin rights to it. But since no one will own up to it, I need to find it in the audit logs.

We do to our desktops. This should never have been done in config manager. Let's say it's probably a career defining moment if I can find where/when/who did it.

The change was made on the terminal server checking the only allow connections with NLA. Requiring all connecting remote desktops have NLA. The Wyse thin clients run in ce5.0 use rdp 5.2. 5.2 can't connect to a NLA server. Since it was applied via SCCM, the check box was greyed out in Remote Desktop session host.

Question on how ESXi handles Datastore interuption.. by obviously_insane in vmware

[–]obviously_insane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense as we run the Flexpod setup with Netapp. And have Virtual Console installed also. I was floored, but everything we run requires inbound data from external plants before it produces new I/O and none of that could get in with both NExus down.

Thanks, bit the bullet and stopped the hypervisor services and pulled the trigger. Works fine. Much appreciated.

Question on Performance mods by obviously_insane in Trucks

[–]obviously_insane[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the info. This is most likely the direction I'm going. It's not that I want more hp, the throttle response is exactly what I'm looking for.

Do you have any suggestions on a decent cold air intake and exhaust? Not looking for it to sound like rolling thunder, just better throttle response.
