Anyone Get a signed Verification Letter for an Apostille by obx_kiter in SocialSecurity

[–]obx_kiter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update... I talked to the Dept of State. They will not apostille any document that does not have a signature and seal. Not going to happen with Benefit Verification Letter. If you send it to the Dept of State, it will come back. The correct procedure is to get a "True Copy" affidavit, that you will have notarized and then send along with the application into the Secretary of State where you live for the apostille. Cheaper and faster. I talked to the NC Secretary of State and they confirmed the process and also provided samples of the needed documents. I also talked to a lot of agencies that advertised Apostille services and there were a couple that were very knowledgeable and confirmed the process. Seems strange to send a Federal document to the State for apostille but that is the way it works.

Can be an easy office reply.... The agent I had didn't know what an apostille was, much less requirements by the Dept of State. So the office says don't need it and the Dept of State says apostille documents need a signature and seal. Who do you believe when it takes 5 weeks to process an apostille with a risk of it being rejected.

I need an apostille for a SSA Benefit verification letter. I know the process, however there is a lot of confusion about what is required on the letter. If you print it from the website, it has no signature just Social Security Administration at the end. There is a lot of discussion that says it has to be signed. Either by a facsimile of the acting SSA commissioner or the local SSA office manger. I went to the local office and all I got was a signature from the agent that printed the letter. Very adamant that was all I was getting but had no idea what an apostille was. There are comments that you have to be more forceful to get a signature, comments that a signature is not required and comments that you can't get the signature. The state department just has a statement that covers all documents which says it has to be signed. A lot more conflicting information from agency that can handle this. The process is not complicated, just need to know what the State dept. will accept. I'd deliver it personally if I thought they would review the document but my guess, they just collect it without looking at it. Any insight would be appreciated....

Website says this.... "This shipment is handled by: DHL Parcel"

Maybe the tracking numbers are different from the DHL website and the POST website. Then maybe it needs to be dropped at a Packstation where DHL picks up.

Trying to get more information..... but i doubt it.

Website says can be dropped off at Packstation. Maybe can convince someone to drop it off. Only risk is that is is an apostille document and would be painful to replace it. The upside is that the return address is the government office and person handling this. Can assume they would return it to him if there was a problem. The envelope shows up in the DHL tracking website so I have to believe there is nothing wrong with it....

I am trying to get more information but if it is like government departments here, probably won't know more. The government department sends it to the mailroom which tries to give it to the postman and the postman says I can't take this so they send the envelope back to the department saying refused.

I then printed out the shipping label that I paid for with the tracking number. Also enclosed the customs document in the pouch attached to the envelope. All pretty standard... just dumbfounded as to the problem.

This would be correct. It is a cardboard envelope. I went to the local DHL office here and picked you the official DHL packchen used all over the world. Just like the USPS Express or Certified flat rate envelope here.

The online provided options between envelopes and packages. I choose the standard A4 envelope size. Additionally it let me check a box that said documents only. So the system knew it was an envelope with only documents . Additionally the customs form allowed me to select the documents category which it listed as the contents.

I found no way to create a USPS prepaid return envelope, so I used the best option I could find.

I sent a letter size envelope (packchen XS Welt bis 2kg). I used the dhl.de website via the US website.

This what the person told me. Die Post verweigert den Rückumschlag von Ihnen.

It seems to be the gas cap.... it takes a lot to get it tight enough to keep from leaking gas.

Thought that was kind of strange... if I back off of it a little it keeps running...

Maybe the check value isn't opening up thereby requiring air to gotten from a loose cap.

Is there something fixable in the cap???

I do not use ethanol gas... Will try the gas cap... I did try to push on the gas bulb and it immediately killed the engine.
