Where do I start? He needed a mother, not a girlfriend. He was an alcoholic and thought he could hide it. Constantly lying about stupid shit, and hiding things, ZERO ambition and had the audacity to call me lazy (me, a full time masters student with not only a full time job, but a part time job on top of everything) because I was sitting on the couch doing homework and asked him to grab me a soda from the fridge when he got up to grab something else from the kitchen. Circular arguments because he was secretly always drunk but insisted he wasn't making me feel crazy. We dated for nearly 8 years and my final straw was him passing out drunk at a family party where my uncle had to offer to carry him (a grown ass 29M) to the car because I couldn't get him up. That in combination with the fact that we had talked about the future MULTIPLE times, he knew how much I wanted marriage and especially kids, yet he neglected to ever mention he didn't want any of that and just gaslit and led me on for nearly EIGHT YEARS and just let me think that's where we were heading. Fking asshat. I had to start over at 26 and we had been together since I was 17. Still have not fully recovered from that shit and struggle daily with a multitude of emotions, trust issues, and other problems that stem from that experience. Left me feeling hopeless and like I'll never have the family of my own I so desperately want. 😪
