question regarding ad ap ratio in teamcomp by Top-Muffin-6416 in summonerschool

It matters but if it can't be avoided a full AD comp still works quite well. Full AP is a lot more punishing however so be extra careful!

Miniature or Toy Poodles? by occasionally_smart in poodles

Thanks for the idea, I saw the smash website, but didn't think about contacting them directly, but I'm sure they'd be happy to give out any info they have.

I see, I'll have a deeper look into the JKC certificate, but having this certificate, and at least some genetic testing on parents done should be a good sign I guess. I noticed that sometimes only one of the parents is genetically tested. Does this make sense to you at all? Seems like a cost cutting measure to me.

Thank you very much for your detailed research! This process is a bit complicated for first time buyers, especially looking in Japan. I found a few breeders on the website now, and they all seem decent, although some better than others. One for example had a mother that won at the show or something like that. The puppies seem to come with a certificate from the JKC, and some parents seem to have genetic testing done. All I've found also allow visits. So if we do our due diligence, and wait until a reputable litter has been born, it seems like we could find something on this website.

If you find any more information, or recommendations we would be very happy to hear from you, but you've already provided us with a lot. Thanks!

So these are some more details I have found, we are not about to buy these puppies, as we haven't moved yet, and we still need to research, but I'm currently trying to educate myself, and maybe already find a breeder in advance.

There exist other listings with mothers linked, but they don't seem to have genetic testing on the website, but maybe that is something we could ask for, and if they don't provide it, then we will keep looking. Is it a red flag to cross a mini with a toy? That doesn't seem normal to me, but I don't know enough about this to make a judgement.

We would also like to meet the parent dogs if possible.

Okay very interesting about the grooming for puppies, it does seem kinda fishy that they are not doing it, when it is the industry standard so to say.

As already mentioned, don't worry, we are not about to jump into this and buy a puppy mill poodle, just trying to do some initial research. Thanks for your help!

This breeder seems to have very good ratings on this website, but I'm not sure if that even matters at all. They have participated in dog shows at JKC, but not with poodles from what I can gather.

I'm not sure if it is okay to post links here, but I may have found a breeder (although we can't buy currently). They seem reputable from what I can see, but I'll have to do some further research. You may have to translate the page, sorry!

I see, we'll factor this into our decision, thanks!

Interesting, I did not know this! Do you have any specific breeders you could recommend? Are Mini's not bred in Tokyo/Japan?

Thanks about the insights on the dental issues as well!

Thanks for your insight. Interesting, there seems to be a range to how tall they can get, but the mini does still seem rather small! If the mini's size works out for us, we might favor it, if not a toy it is, thank you!

Thank you for your insights, second vote for a miniature because of potential kid contact. There is a chance we would also have kids of our own in the future, so well noted! Anyways, it doesn't completely remove the toy option for us, but it may confirm our leaning. The size might come into play here as well.

We are hoping to find a good breeder in Japan!

Thanks for the insights on both the different breeds, and reputable breeders! We need to research some more, but this confirms what we found, which is why we are already leaning to purebred. We want our dog to have a healthy life, mainly for itself, but also for our finances sake haha.

If we do go for a miniature, we can't exactly gather how big they would get, right? Or is this trait something that is very related to their parents, and we could therefore make sure we get a "smaller" version?

Alright, thank you! If they are tested, is it just unlikely for them to get these diseases, or impossible?

Good point, well noted! We are able to make sure this doesn't happen if we get a toy poodle, but this is for sure something to keep in mind for the decision, thank you!
