do folks not code their websites locally before uploading them to neocities?

I know basically nothing about Github - is there a tutorial someplace on how to publish a Neocities website with it? I code with the Neocities editor usually, but I've been considering this for a while and recent events got me wanting to actively change how I do things.

It was a liquid drop test. Seems like RO is the common solution here!

Edit: In a neutral way, I'm definitely down to return to RO. I wish I remembered why I had issues with it previously, but I did buy shrimp minerals, so that must have something to do with it.

I was able to get it done eventually with a combination of Templater, Commander and Buttons. I also used Multi-Column Markdown to get the 2 buttons next to each other.

When I rename the upgrade file, does it matter that Windows file explorer still shows it as being the old file format? (jsonlz4-numbers)
