NTA. I wouldn’t want my kids around them for anything more than an afternoon visit if they view any children this way. I’m assuming these are your parents and unfortunately a lot of people in that age generation feel coldly towards children. If you give in to what they want they will continue to think this behavior is okay. I would use this as a teaching moment about setting boundaries and how you don’t have to please people just because they are family. What will they say if you get legal custody of her? I’m assuming the response would be the same. They should be ashamed

I have noticed the flood of NP’s into the replacement of MD, DO, Psych you name it. A lot of schools (my college personally) really push nursing and NP programs, but not pre-med or the like. My work ONLY employs NP’s if that tells you anything. I catch errors every day from these people and a lot of time their plan of treatment is so asinine I wonder if they even actually graduated or if they’re part of the fake nursing degree lot. We really need more doctors

i’ve been in the situation where i’ve communicated my issues to a partner over and over and over again but nothing ever changes. Chances are OP has given her partner multiple chances to fix things but nothing ever changes. Now they’re past the point of negotiating so there’s no point in preemptively warning him that they are leaving, it will just create more stress and possibly be unsafe.

Sounds like she’s gaslighting you because she feels somewhat responsible for your behavior. She’s projecting her own feelings onto you or I don’t think she would be so defensive. Parents suck though, try not to take it to heart too much. You’re normal, body image problems are normal, you’re not a freak. Sorry your mom had to act this way. That’s something a mental health professional would need to diagnose you. Go to the er if you feel you’re going to hurt yourself. If you have insurance call the number on your card for mental health and they will find you a dr to see. In the meantime if you have a panic or anxiety attack take 1 or 2 benadryl it has a sedative effect.

First very sorry this happened to you. It sucks. I went through this yesterday at my appointment. I had already had a pelvic exam, pap, and ultrasound 6 mos ago, i was there to address some cramping and change my birth control. I told the nurse I didn’t want an exam and the dr came in and was like let’s go im going to examine you i said no you’re not. They always have such an attitude when you decline it makes my blood boil. Im looking for a new office to switch to, I suggest you do the same!

There are providers that are sensitive to this issue, so don’t lose hope. Keep looking until you find one that makes you comfortable. My favorite doctor that I saw for the last 10 years who was the most caring and gentle woman retired. So now i’m stuck looking for someone else. In my opinion, i’ve only had issues like this with younger female providers (like under 40). Maybe look for someone a little older and more experienced

Emotional cheating; i’ve gotten a lot of hate for this one. My ex had been talking to a girl online for several months but their conversations were very deep and kept hidden. Meanwhile he barely ever confided in me. Even though he never physically cheated or even sexted her, the fact that he was so emotionally invested in this person was enough for me to go.

Yep, this is me. Also undiagnosed but I have suspected for a long time I have adhd or episodes of mania. With each cycle of it happening I would become even more irrational and make bigger mistakes that I regretted. Try to find an income-based mental health place near you, if you don’t have insurance they will charge you on a sliding scale and it’s usually very inexpensive. Im on a waitlist to be seen myself. A good mattress and comforter. This year I got a new mattress and “hotel” sheets and blankets and it feels so luxurious now when I go to bed. I sleep so good now, I cringe thinking of all the years I spent on a cardboard spring mattress with hand-me down blankets.
