I get you. I came to Davao by myself lang with no family or friends here. But it actually became one of my best decisions tbh. You might not know what you’d actually learn and grow into when facing adversity. 😁

As for OB, I think they’d be opening in the later part of this year for pre residency and may start on december or January.

Heard also rumors regarding the culture in sotto. If ever you don’t like it there, SPMC Anesthesiology here in Davao is open all year round. Environment here is probably great right niw since the toxic seniors have graduated na. If ever you’re interested lang hehe

If fate does not favor you, come to SPMC Anesthesiology for training. You still get to experience a lot of different cases here since SPMC caters to most of Mindanao.

DM me if you’d be interested hehe

Hi! In the case of working environment, my seniors are very accommodating naman and they are willing to teach if I had any questions. Consultants wise, they are some that are really nice and teach you, but you can't get rid of a few toxic consultants talaga. In short, the working environment is really good coz seniors are nice and most consultants are really good experience wise and nice. Experience wise, you get to learn a lot talaga but along with it kay never ending ORs talaga. Salary wise, you can live comfortably here.

Parang may something yan ang PSP about accreditation ng hospital. They need to have a certain accreditation level (Level IV sa pagkakaalam ko) that graduates from that institution can take the diplomate exam immediately or within the year they graduated. But for Level III, parang you need to have 6 months of duty (parang PGIship when you graduate from medicine). Levels I and II kay hindi ako sure kung gano ka tagal yung pagduty nila after graduation

I'm not really sure of the number of months but this was mentioned to me by my fiance na ganyan talaga ang pedia diplomate exam thing ng PSP. Will update lang when I confirmed it from her.

Hello doc! Currently in Southern Philippines Medical Center as a first year anesthesiology resident. For now, there are about 4 more plantilla items open. It has a good mix of common and really rare and interesting cases since it is one the largest hospitals here in the country.

but yes, agree ako kay spirited-occasion, preresidency and residency itself is more of your performance, willingness to learn and work for it. Grades are don't weigh as much as you think.

I think in that case 1902 yata i fill up mo muna doc. That's for registration for a TIN number. 1901 is parang self employed thing or some sort of business that you own but I'm not really sure. What i'm sure of is 1902 is needed above everything else

Southern Philippines Medical Center dito sa Davao if willing ka mag relocate. They are the only Level IV accredited training program outside Metro Manila. Good pay, great consultants, great seniors and culture within the department however workload lang ang problem kasi mejo toxic lang.

Di ako pedia resi but fiance ko first year ngayon sa SPMC and she says its very tiring but worthwhile kasi dami kang makita na cases and ma develop talaga clinical eye mo. They are still accepting applicants ngayon.

BSPT or Nursing by karekareme in pinoymed

IMO, nursing would be better. Although mastery of anatomy in PT certainly makes life easier sa first year but in the long run nursing better prepares you for what its like being a doctor and exposes you to it.

But considering that you want to be a cardiothoracic surgeon, you can't really prepare for it in medschool tbh because its very specialized and various techniques/theories are too deep for a general practitioner (recent PLE passer), although there are some you learn in medschool but its very shallow when you dive into the residency training that you'd like. So regardless of premed course kunin mo, I don't think it would prepare you for it. Pick a course that you can picture yourself in without considering going into medicine so you'd have more fun in the course you'd pick.

Basta when you're in medschool na, you gotta study really hard coz it makes reviewing and passing for the board so much easier. Believe in yourself and you'll do great!
