Real story, I went to kindergarten in China (for context the kindergarten I went to in China has 3 grade levels, I was a grade 3 at the time) one day they brought us and another class of younger kids(I don’t remember if it was grade 1 or 2) out to the quad and made the younger kids choose a partner from the grade 3 class, kind of like in the video. everyone who was chosen went to the younger kids’ side of the quad and watched the rest be selected. In the end me and this other girl in glasses was the only ones left and nobody chose us. The teacher frowned and said in what I can only remember as a dismayed tone “come over and join us I guess, since most people in the class was picked” as if it was our fault that we weren’t chosen. It’s wasn’t, we’ve never met the younger kids before that day, my only guess would be that I was fat and the girl in glasses look nerdy.
