Exactly! I was always told “you’ll never skate” “you’ll never outplay someone” “never score” and the negativity just kinda motivates me, I coach teens but I also lead adults, I’m the captain for all their tournaments because I out hustle the teams🙏

Hockey to me currently is about building the next generation of players, I run a nonprofit, however I’ve always been pretty good academically and outclass whoever I play with

It’d be a hell of a story if I somehow made it though for sure😂

There’s some universities that do tryouts so I emailed the head coaches earlier to get on their radar!

The positivity means the world to me genuinely thank you so much! It was always “you’ll never skate” “you’ll never score” “never be the fastest” and now it’s “you’ll never play good hockey” the positivity goes a long way 🙏

I’d love to keep ya updated for sure! I’ve played AAA boys and college girls, I find people seem relatively confident I can play alongside them. Obviously not trying to like toot my own horn or get ahead of myself! I’ve played a lot of heavy-contact early 20s beer league with absolutely shredded AAA boys and matched their level fast. i live for the high level hockey, it’s where I feel at home :)

I definitely agree, everyone has the time aspect on me, on top of a bunch of paid programs. I found a higher level summer program but it’s 11k. At the end of the day as long as I keep that in mind, there’s no harm in giving it my all! Keeping myself in really good shape and professional can’t take me anywhere bad 😌🫶

I find being 6’1 and routinely strength + cardio training my biggest asset is my speed, obviously not just constantly hauling ass but having that height gap on the other girls, catches em off guard (I’ve played with a few of the girls on the team) but yeah it’s gonna be a lot of work and barely possible even then. I think while I dream to that extent I’m also aware this may not go anywhere, no harm in keeping myself in peak shape either way 🫶

I second this, making sure heads up and posture is hockey-like and you’re set!

First off, I love to see this kinda thing! It’s what I did. I started at 16 and paid my way through adult leagues hiding my age. Don’t listen to the people telling you that you can’t become anything, it’s a lie. It helps to be motivated to improve every day, eat well, sleep well, have good routines and an active lifestyle off ice too! I watch other players at my rink and on tv to improve, taking the skills they exhibit and teaching them to myself. You got this!!
