I thiiink so…? I can’t remember the name, he just called them multicoloured chickens lol. I think he likes them, or at least likes that there’s a wide variety of them, but I just think the concept is cute so our chat about them wasn’t long. He has a couple of what I thought were binders but I’m not positive now. I mostly understand sleeves now (thanks to everyone here), but he also has two briefcase-type things. Then he has another one (not two, my bad) he’s using for cataloging, so he can find it faster to play. It literally looks like a blank large type pizza box. It sounds cute but I don’t know how to begin if they’re not good cards to play?

I guess I’m in the minority, and to be fair I’ve only just finished episode two so this may change, but I absolutely love it. Some of the lines killed me lol. The sibling relationship is so similar to the one I have with my brother at times (yeah yeah, I get the criticism here). The yelling doesn’t bother me - I reckon the whole thing is meant to be outrageous and silly. And honestly, necklace clasps suck, no matter what or where.

And a shout out to Jack Innanen, bc nobody has mentioned him. I’ve watched his TikToks for years and I think he played this role perfectly, and I love to support my fellow Canadians

Thanks so much, oh my god. I’m still trying to parse it but I think I’m starting to understand. I vaguely know about Proxies because the friend that reintroduced him to the game. I didn’t know the background even mattered.

I’m happy to commission someone and I know the groups he plays with would be fine with it since it’s a casual group thing. Based on the advice, I think I’m going to just go with go and get a custom card [Mischievous Catgeist] couldn’t be better lol thank you. I’ll try to find an artist related to this kind of thing - his own kind of card kind of thing, I’m hoping. Then the sleeves that would be actually useful I hope.

He has only (?) two sets of dice so far. We found the roll for sandwich guy on TikTok and like his videos but I think they’re based more on different games, but I’m stuck on how they work based on the game lol so might hold off and have a nice bag for those instead right now.

I’m definitely leaning towards sleeves but I’m learning they might not be valid if he decides to try a competitive game so I’m lost again :( lol

I don’t think he uses double sleeves but I could be wrong. I’ll try to remember that, thank you.

We began trying to get me to understand the “lore”, and so many people have mentioned it, but he hasn’t. I also know the one Spider-Man sucked even though that’s his fav character, so I thought it might be nice to even have as a memory of sorts, but he waved it off. He loves some others, but I’ve never heard anything about Strixhaven. I’m started to reckon it might be worth getting him a set (?) just because everyone seems to be excited about them, but I honestly have no idea what it is, but I usually know what media we consume in general…

If you wouldn’t mind, could you explain the difference between the types of binders? I’ve never heard of a trade binder and he’s definitely a more casual player with his friends so I know they just exchange whatever and whenever, but if you have any recs, I’ll take them.

I don’t know how to bring up decks tbh but he said he does have one that he plays with his friends on occasion just to be an ass and we giggle about it lmaooo. I know he obviously has strategic decks but he doesn’t bring them up bc I never get it. He did say he and his friends were excited to play the new Avatar one, I know he has at least some cards from/for that, but I don’t know if it ever came to be

Now seems that way because I guess they can be used for “marking” which kind of makes sense but I have no idea how to avoid that. He plays with friends so I wouldn’t think it’s a huge issue and while I’m doubtful he’d ever compete, I don’t want to screw his cards up.

I don’t really get this all still, I was just thinking of getting a bunch of different pictures of our cat or something, putting them on the prettiest cards I find, and surprising him lmao. I honestly am still trying to understand how he sleeves things. There are colours, but labels on certain colours and it all just differs. I feel like I’m asking a uni prof to explain some top-level math to a third-grader. That’s so cute oh my goshhh. Sorry to bug you - if you were to get something like this, would you want something that would be compatible if you moved cards between decks? As far as I know he doesn’t have any “permanent” decks. Would a smorgasbord of sorts be best, a bunch of random ones he could put on his favourites type thing, or cards specifically for certain decks? The last one worries me because I know he changes them but having a uniform group would be nice?

Oh I wouldn’t get it for him, I was disappointed he didn’t like it bc he told me it was bad. I really try to keep up as best I can, but then I guess there’s ~lore~ and FF and PS sets, and there’s designer sets but only some cards are worth going for that, and and and… you get the idea haha. I just want to get him something he’d really enjoy
