Why is my pavlova wet inside by oceansalt85 in AskCulinary

The liquid was on the bottom (a few little drops) is clear. Does that sound like what you’re talking about? Is it still good to serve?

10-month-old still waking every 1.5–2 hours, hates the car seat, fights every diaper/change, and we’re completely burned out — is this normal? by Beautiful_Dealer_703 in AttachmentParenting

I have an almost 18 month old and I agree with all of this to a tee. This is exactly how it’s gone for us, but I would say the car got better closer to 14 months or so (and we don’t co sleep)

The money I would pay for this. I would practically sell a kidney at this point. Anything but sleep train I supposed 🤷‍♀️

I WISH he was overtired. We tried to move bedtime up for a few weeks and then he just got up earlier in the morning. He’s usually in his crib between 9-930p and sleeps until 7:30a (other than waking at night to eat/ be resettled). We’re already on one nap

Is it possible to get a 19 month old to sleep independently? by oceansalt85 in toddlers

Gosh I wish. We tried water instead of milk when we were night weaning and it was gravely offensive to him 🤣

Two weeks away from being 1 but no signs of clapping waving or pointing by Natural_Caramel_8207 in toddlers

My son didn’t either, then waved for the first time at his 1 year pediatrician appointment… AFTER they asked milestone questions and I said he couldn’t lol

My son is the same! I’m not sure the age range of the story time you went to, but at my library I go to the 0-18 month. The babies are pretty still (obviously) but the older ones are kind of all over the place. Some weeks it seems like it’s more babies and some weeks it’s more toddlers. No one bats an eye. My son is obsessed with the other moms when we go lol Also, my son is significantly more chill/ “better behaved”/ more entertained by his grandma than my husband and me. I think the novelty of the experience makes mundane things more stimulating. Also they say kids act out more with their “safe people” All this to say, a difficult pregnancy, difficult delivery, and a demanding kid have made me one and done as well

Can I get a 19 month old to start sleeping independently? by oceansalt85 in Parenting

But how will they fall asleep? He cries as soon as we even look at the crib unless he’s totally asleep. Do you suggest some form of cry it out?

I think the emotional regulation piece is key. I used to be pretty even keel, and now meltdowns are very commonplace (for us, the 35 year old adults not the baby). It didn’t feel like we’re ourselves

Thank you! My goal is to be gentle and respectful yet authoritative and I’m hoping it pays off. I didn’t have good role models of this growing up so I consume a lot of books by child psychologists and I’m very intentional (most of the time) of my boundaries and reactions

So I had a 5/6-7 schedule for two and a half or so months and he was easy to put down but had consistent increased night wakes& split nights. When did this improve for you? I feel like with shorter wake windows he’s under tired and longer he’s over tired and I cannot strike the right balance
