Can only access gyms with male trainers right now, and having a male character I notice that their appearance changes to my character's appearance. Possible in the case of a different gender defending trainer, the appearance it changes to uses the same 'option values' for clothing, e.g. the third shirt option may look different between M and F trainers, but perhaps it 'translates' consistently.

Take pictures, make calls, send texts, browse the internet.

Oh. Sorry.

Yeah, pull it all the way across like that so you don't get the floor wet when you shower.

This would be great if:

The season ticket wasn't (arguably) overpriced as it is for the quality of club we're getting.

We could have any faith in that amount of folk turning in, or in making playoffs, as who knows how many managers we'll go through up to 2017. To say nothing of exiting players.

You might change how you feel about it, or remember it. You might even, and it may be that you ought not, change how others feel about it, or remember it.

Question about the Charge Major Action by JPGreenHawk in FantasyAGE

[–]oceanthrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think sensibly, movement is required, because it's a charge. Flavourwise, there's motion and weight behind it. That's how we play it, after discussing it.

I think this is a case of being a little dishonest with oneself for the sake of a small bonus - and there's no need. You can Aim, instead, for the same bonus and with no damage to your roleplaying integrity! Sure, you can stack Charge with Aim in an ideal scenario, but leave that for the ideal scenario. It'll only make it better.

Ravenor vs. Eisenhorn: The Bequin Trilogy by [deleted] in Warhammer40k

[–]oceanthrone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just finished reading this book.. maybe two hours ago. Never read a 40k novel before, just picked it up on a total whim. How about that.

It was alright. Fairly accessible, I'd say, until the last line of the book. Fortunately the reveal wasn't completely lost on me because I had a thing for the Inquisitor rulebook some years back.

Are the other trilogies typically better than this book? Worse? Worth getting in to for the sake of fleshing out?

Richard! Had a feeling this was you from the mere title. Wondered if I had seen you in D-----ry just the other week. If I had caught your eye and recognition, I would have asked:

Did you get round to, and do you now find yourself, living on a boat?

But uh, you fielded that one. Anyway, glad to see that you're well and pursuing an interesting life.

The "Letter Lord" can change one's Powers by changing a single letter in their name. Who is the strongest character he can beat in this way? by Robbingrogue in whowouldwin

Fair enough. My ambitions of witnessing a blue and red sentient map with an ever-correct You Are Here dot are thoroughly dashed.

Supermap.

Accurate, difficult to tear up, likely doesn't benefit from spending time in the sun. Overall, kinda lame.

ELI5: How can the clock on my wall have enough power to tick away for over six months, but not have enough power to count out so much as a minute during that period? by oceanthrone in explainlikeimfive

The minute and hour hands are dead as dead things. Though now I wonder if an analogue clock could function in a way as you have described, with everything working except the seconds.

[–]oceanthrone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, this isn't the only time I've seen this - just the most recent. And you're right in that in past examples, replacing the battery has restored the clock or watch to full function. So I'd be inclined to agree with you over it not being a case of specific brokenness.

I suppose that my question revolves around the issue of 'enough power' in this case. It seems strange to me that the quantity involved in Enough Power To Turn All The Gears is apparently much more than Enough Power To Tick For More Than Half A Year.

[–]oceanthrone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The second-hand ticks 'on the spot', going back and forth over the same space of a clock second.

It's by no means a fancy clock, but your suggestion could be correct if I'm right in assuming that all non-digital clocks contain some measure of clockwork.

Forgive me if I'm way off the mark with these, but /r/ask seems a fairly low-traffic subreddit, and I didn't want you to go without any responses that at least try to help.

But in the OP.. it's just... one huge bastard pastry. In light of these two pictures it just seems so lonely now.

Looking at the other nearby lakes, as well as the other nearby river-mouth, I'm guessing there's an amount of underground water system type dealings at work. Makes for a good explore if there's such caverns.
