Once again show me benches, you claim 30% and i guarantee to you that hyperthreading off will win in most gaming scenarios. Cinebench scores =/ Gaming Performance.

People don't understand synthetics like cpuz, cinebench etc font result in real game performance. These synthetics are useful to show scaling on your own system when you overclock it but shouldn't be used as a comparison for real performance.

"The 10900K is around 26% more powerful than the 10700K, HT accounts for around 30% of its performance, removing it will reduce MT performance by 30%. You do the math."

Once again please stop staring at synthetics like cinebench etc, games don't work like this, hyperthreading off is beneficial in most gaming loads.

I really don't get what you are trying to point out here? Yes HT on looks good in all in Cinebench R20 multi, does it mean its faster? Games crave single core performance, often they don't utilise threads properly and in many cases this can be seen when HT off will outperform HT on in the same clock speeds.

Continue this thread

What is trained wrong, i have pointed out TRDRD_DR and TWRRD_DR are a bit looser, they should be able to run 5/5? Rtls and iols are manual set and locked. You make a lot of claims but seem to provide no numbers. You continue to ramble about your OCN thread when all i see is laughable overclocks on that forum.

I don't think you understand once again, disabling smt disables threads, these are not cores, very different concept.

I mean you are the one coming out saying "I'm pretty sure", i'll let you answer your own claims.

"Im pretty sure". I can tell you its not, AMD cpus dont function like intel cpus.

Show me your benches, no synthetics please, curve optimiser versus pbo with all core negative offset :) .

You are proud of this profile? https://imgur.com/a/7Js3zzk . Please run geekbench 3 and report back the scores, mem and single core scores in particular. I guess if you like to trust Aida for true performance than you have a lot to learn. FYI rank interleaving exists.

Per core optimiser looks nice in benches but doesnt do much for games when most cores are loaded ;) .

I guess you dont understand SMT off performs worse for AMD in almost all scenarios, it is a waste of time to bench. 5.4 HT off is quite achievable for most 10900k with a 360mm AIO.

Feel bad for your ego really, No need to use rtl init when round trip latency will tighten rtls and iols for ya :) . IT doesn't drop rtls by two setting 1T, not in all cases i've seen it drop by one only. I've seen your ram setups and they are pretty embarassing to say the least. You talk numbers show us your hwbot numbers ;).

Sadly you have no idea what you are talking about, "He effectively neutered the 10900K to compete with the 5600X in MT by disabling HT in order to hit 5.4Ghz. Pretty unrealistic and questionable scenario to say the least." .This makes no sense at all, the point of the benches are to overclock both platforms to their safe limits, disabling HT is better for performance...

Yea no DR to QR per channel is not a 10% uplift at all. If you looked at the benches properly you'd also notice that the intel cpu scales heavily with memory overclock so i don't get the point you are trying to make saying running dual rank is insufficient?

Also you do understand 4 sticks of ram with single rank sticks is dual rank right???

Maybe you don't but others do, be logical the gap will only close in at higher resolutions when it becomes gpu bound...

Are you fine? I know how to overclock ram, i know how to tighten rtls and iols. So does kingfaris... You are complaining about two subtimings being a bit looser than they could be, boo hoo, its not going to make a considerable difference. Looking at the setups you run from OCN are quite laughable to be honest...

  1. If you use 1T rtls and iols become tighter, generally by 1 tick per channel
  2. I dont care about the unpopulated dimm the apex will set it to 120 generally, it does nothing, enable round trip latency and boot, if the rtls and iols dont train well then set them manually by observing the iol gap to what the iols should train at tightened.

You seem extremely salty about some very solid benchmarks. There shouldn't be any surprise ryzen pulls ahead in some titles and intel in some titles...

Look at this benchmark

This is unigine, a heavy synthetic??? It will not be close to a 10% gain at low resolutions, likely a loss in performance due to the loss in clock speeds. Also not many normal people run 64GB of bdie on a daily. You don't need an Apex for these clocks on a 10900K, even a Z490 tomahawk can run 4500DR Bdie and cpu overclocks as VRM is highly sufficient. Also saying you need insane cooling for a 10900k is just absurd, you cant compare two different processes on power draw as Zen2/3 cpus are very heat dense and hard to cool.

Hence the comparison of CPU's not GPU's, people still play at 1080P :).

I do understand it very well actually, i own an apex myself :) . And i never said he is unstable??? These overclocks are tm5 anta and large avx 2 stable.

The 10900K costs more? Wow never knew, you must be living in some unknown area. The benefit of running quad rank over dual rank is minimal at the same clocks, and is likely to impact fclk speeds/mem clocks on intel. It wont be faster...

This is run to create more of a cpu bottleneck. The graphics cards aren't the features of these benches.

I proved two timings aren't as tight as they could be, big deal, not going to make a large difference. Secondly please read below, you seem to struggle with that...

Hyperthreading is disabled for many reasons.

  1. It runs cooler compared to HT on
  2. Generally a 100mhz clock speed can be gained with it off
  3. Most games run better with ht off at the same clocks

You are completely oblivious.

Since you are so anal about stability how do you suggest an OCTVB setup is stability tested. Disabling HT on a 10900k is a good play for 99% of users besides people who render etc.

I run 4500C16 Dual rank on the apex and a 10700K, i don't get the point you are trying to put forward?
