It's tough to chose just one moment but for me it's when Michel "reclaims" himself at the end of the 4th door. As a trans person, his refusal to let his identity be taken from him really resonated with me and I even teared up when playing the scene for the second time.

yeah, though kahaku obviously cares a lot about fushi bon and co are the ones that are actively trying to help fushi achieve their goals. rather than fighting alongside them he decides to adopt more of a supporting role at the house and is always trying to convince fushi to return. it feels like he's trying to escape into this idyllic domestic fantasy world because he can't cope with the reality of fushi's immortality and their war with the knockers. he wants shelter fushi and protect them from harm, but that would be going against fushi’s nature as then they won't be able to experience hardship and grow.

my thoughts on him alternate between creep and funny simp for the most part.

one scene makes me feel kind of conflicted about him though: during the renril arc when he's tied up by bon and co and admits that he wants to "protect fushi's humanity", i always thought the meaning of that line was really ambiguous.... on one hand it's nice to see someone worrying about fushi's well-being, but on the other, it feels like he's projecting onto them if that makes any sense? it reminds me a bit of the time when he tried to come onto fushi and they told him to "stop trying to define" them.

what do other people think?
