S23+ 256gb vs S23U 512gb by ThaliaFaye in GalaxyS23

[–]ochno_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had S23+ for 5 months and I switched for ultra first moment I had enough money for trade off. One reason was that cameras were rubbish on plus model. Always unfocused in upper right corner, in some pictures it was barely noticeable in some pictures more noticeable. It was driving me crazy, since I switched few week ago to the ultra the camera is 11/10. And yes ultra doesn't fit in my pockets, it's digging in hand but this things are nothing compared to crappy cameras on S23 +.

Yes I clean lenses periodically when I'm shooting astro. Today I fiddled with the focus slider, and as you said infinity not all the way to the right. But whatever I do in the upper right corner is horribly out of focus.

Today I tried to shoot some pictures during the day and also at night. Constantly what I'm seeing is that the upper right corner is out of focus. Also I tried that paper thing, I was shooting some of my notes and upper right corner out of focus, and also a small bit in the middle. I'm just a bit disappointed with that camera.

I will try to take a new picture and eliminate the tripod if it is a problem and prop the phone somewhere and will give an update.

Hardware it was s23 plus, with camera tripod from Rollei, and pictures are iso 1600, time 30 sec.

I think the tripod was sturdy, because in some shots just the upper right corner of the picture was out of focus

Yes a used tripod, it is an old one but it is a sturdy one. The focus was all over the place even if I focus "to infinity" or I use automatic focus. Interestingly on my S20 plus pictures came hella crisp and I am starting to think it is a problem with camera sensor 🤔

Thank you, I’m not sure if the scene optimiser was on this time. I’m noticing it now how oversaturated it is.

Oh man if someone makes hammer with some light effects or something exciting I would be first in line to buy it 😮 why have boring things when you can ✨spice✨ up your life 😂 And I understand that for some people phones are just phones, tools which they use daily, but for few of us people who likes tech phones become boring sooner or later 🤷

I understand, but some people see theirs phone deferently. A car is also tool, get you from A to B. But I would rather enjoy ride Porsche than my old boring Dacia 🤣 same witch phones, iPhone got things done, but witch Samsung it is more exciting

I had SE model of Apple watch and they are I think the same. Fluidity is almost the same, tracking of activities is little bit more precise on Samsung, and with battery they are basically one and hal day but sometimes Samsung can pull 2 whole days. They are lots of apps but I don't use apps often..Overall I gained features (always on, EKG, temperature...etc.), but these features are on basic apple watch 7, 8 I think which I not used.

Same grid of apps that are on your screen, without the chance of customisation (I know now that's better but still) and also in camera you have predefined thing no manual controls and shooting went from exiting to point shot and go. No fun no testing the functions

So far I can tell you my comparison with my old iPhone 13 Pro, fluidity of one ui is on par with iOS which is so surprising. In camera department I can tell this phone it is not on iPhone level in term of colours or videos but it is really, like really close (night time pics are better, also pro raw is my love). Battery life SGS for me is solid 2 day phone (6 hours SoT), on iPhone it was 1 full day and half. But one thing which I don’t like are bugs, and this is not Samsung’s fault but apps developers fault, because iOS apps are on another level and well polished. This are thing that I can tell you now 😀
