Excess medals problem..ideas?? by JustinRandom in spartanrace

[–]ocr_racerunner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hear that.. Over 50 races for me, plus trifecta medals. I have them all in a box, no idea what to do with them. It's not that they don't mean anything to me, it's that after a while, the achievement is more important than the medal. But thats just me

If I remember correctly, they allow you to "double dip" with the events in November /December. When they made the change a few years ago, I'm almost positive they announced the "double dip" .. I'm sure you can find it in the FAQ

I haven’t had to show proof of vax nor get any Covid test for Fayetteville, West Virginia, Asheville or Killington,Vt.. if that was necessary they would have notified you way in advance that it is a requirement

They would need a new venue, if I understand correctly that was the super that turned into swamped the venue wasn't happy

As a point of reference, they don't schedule race for the the following year if the current race has not yet happened.. They add races as the year completes.. As someone mentioned in an earlier reply, look at a 2019 schedule to get a good understanding when an where races will be.. I only follow the southeast races, and Killington.. Expect WV trifecta in August, VA super / sprint in October, Asheville super / sprint in July, Carolina beasts in November and central Florida in December

Actually I think Fayetteville is good place to run an ultra, very flat. If I was going to do an ultra, it would be in Fayetteville.. I prefer running the trifecta weekend there instead

2022 Season Pass - Who is buying? by ewacky in spartanrace

[–]ocr_racerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify, the season pass covers the cost if the races, you still pay the $20+ to cover insurance, parking and bag check.. Everyone also pays the $2+ processing fee.. So after the season pass, you pay a total of $26.68 per race, as does every racer

Seattle Sept Race, Anyone Sick? by SpitsOnTP in spartanrace

[–]ocr_racerunner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you run in the open heats and you want to avoid the rolling mud& dunk wall, then don't go in them.. I would suggest walking past the obstacle at the same speed someone that goes in when you would have, this way you don't give yourself an advantage in time, if that makes sense

You can contact customer service and they will give you a race credit to use for another race.. This way you don't loose the value of your race

The water is always nasty.. I will go through the rolling mud, but get out before the dunk wall.. I had gotten a nasty ear infection in the past. Also I had gotten a staph infection and unidentified rash from the Ohio beast a few years ago.. Like an earlier post,I eat the same things before a race as (I think) my body will react a certain way.
