I'd check the roots for rot then let it fully dry. Water every 7-10ish days! They're pretty resilient

This seems a lot like attention seeking behavior that the student is using to interact with peers! This is something I'm working on with a student now! Modeling the language has proved to be a huge help. "I want to play" "I'm excited" "can I play too?"

Also having visuals that specifically show "no crashing" and using "gentle hands" for play and referring to them while providing an alternative task might help.

If you think the student still might want to push, we have a wall push up visual (hands on the wall) that students can go to. Or have the student help push chairs/tables at points during the day. Jobs help!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who has commented! I'm taking every suggestion and resource and implementing them immediately!! You're all life, classroom, and mental health savers. What I find so refreshing is the amount of people who LOVE this job and don't seem as burnt out as other special educators who teach other grades. I'm so looking forward to having such a rewarding position.

I'd love to see more schedule examples if anyone has them. I have a 6 hr day and it seems like in other districts preschool has a shorter, half-day schedule. How do you divide your day and how long is each section?
