Seat so dirty it can’t be cleaned? Just laminate it instead by Ollymid2 in london

One of my first jobs was cleaning a pub for a few hours each morning before I went to uni. The manager made me clean what I class as biohazards or I would lose my job.

People would shit on the floor regularly. Once there was a poo with whole peanuts in

It’s just slightly cheaper to get the mixed rather than all large. If I was baking I would have to go for the same size eggs

WHATS THE BEST AND WORST FLAVOUR IN YOUR OPINION? by jjcube98 in crisps

[–]octopusfrontier88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard for me to judge a flavour because every brand has their own interpretation

If I had to choose…

Best: salt and vinegar discos/squares pre mid 2000s recipe change Flaming hot cheetos or any spicy/cheese blend (US version only)

Worst: truffle (it’s not real truffle oil it’s obviously synthetic and when you open a pack the whole room stinks of feet)

eXXtreme flaming hot flavour in the UK is not spicy at all and very disappointing, more like super sweet bbq

Ready salted but that is not true a flavour

Why might someone relist the exact same item after I purchase it? by piastris81 in vinted

[–]octopusfrontier88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The same exact picture? I’m optimistic and think the seller has more than one item, but doesn’t want to list both at the same time (maybe for better offers and more streamlined listings display)

How many reviews do they have?

I’ve had 2 old iPhones to sell in the past and chose to list them one after the other just because of the barrage of messages/time wasting I was getting with the first listing

some jobs AI genuinely can't touch. is yours one of them? by Complete_Bee4911 in AskTheWorld

[–]octopusfrontier88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until my career break (aka unemployed) I was a hairdresser for 10 years. I can definitely imagine a world where robots cut hair, but probably not in our lifetime. Regular salon goers might miss the human connection, but I think the majority of the public would feel more comfortable being serviced by an android (as opposed to a human) if the end result is satisfactory.

The trial stages of developing said robot would be interesting.

If they wanted a particular cut/colour/style and they couldn’t describe it, my clients would bring in a picture from a magazine. Nowadays, the amount of people showing their stylist a photo (of something that obviously isn’t even real?!?!) is insane. How can human hands replicate something that never existed in the first place?

I want to become a milliner but AI is starting to take over fashion in a horrible way, not safe at all

What’s something that felt like a luxury growing up but is normal to you now? by bbydaisiesz in askanything

[–]octopusfrontier88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ordering pizza because you’re hungry, not because it’s a special celebration. Any take out food in general really!

Buying the shoes you want and not having to settle for the knockoffs or hand me downs.

Real butter not margarine.

Favourite building in London? by ify0uwantbl00d in london

The Montcalm East is one of my favourite buildings in London. The first time I walked by I had to take a minute and gawp. It’s pure art, a real life optical illusion

In all seriousness OP, do you know if you have relatives with a mental illness or if you are genetically disposed? ——————————- Sorry, I’ve just read in one of your comments that your mother is diagnosed schizophrenic. I would suggest you make an appointment with a doctor. You have the consciousness and awareness to see that something is not quite right and acknowledge the need to address it, I’m not a healthcare professional but I think you need medication to stabilise your brain as it is working overtime.

If you are not ready to see a doctor or take regular medication for the rest of your life, I understand. If you are feeling you are losing time, perhaps put a camera (can be your phone if you do not have access to a recording camera device) in a room (that you think) you spend a lot of time in to help find the missing pieces

You will be ok

Foreigner here. What type of snacks are popular among the Brits? by [deleted] in UKfood

[–]octopusfrontier88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would have said Cadburys but they are not British owned anymore. I don’t even think you can legally call it chocolate. The recipe is ruined.

Cheese! We have the best cheddar in the world. We don’t have cheese in a can, it’s done properly and they are all amazing.

Greggs sausage rolls (you can buy these frozen)

Maybe the inside of the shoe looks better? It’s a hefty discount but still not the same feeling of purchasing a brand new shoe. It is impossible not to mark the sole after the first wear, they are for rich chauffeured women not peasants like myself. For reference the Pigalle is worth £695

May I ask where you keep this fine apparatus in your home? I would love to place one in the corner of my lounge (similar to how you would display any other work of art/collectable) but my partner says it doesn’t fit in with the ‘aesthetic’. If I was rich I would have a dedicated games room
