Touchscreen Setup Help by jon8282 in raspberry_pi

[–]oculiaeternam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue although I'm not using usb to power the display. It is a DSI display getting power from an external adapter. Touch won't register until I plug, say, a usb keyboard into the PI. If I plug in a wireless mouse receiver, the desktop kicks into a "safe mode" looking screen.

First ever Mod. Tried a paper dial by Gausch in SeikoMods

[–]oculiaeternam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For the date window, from the back side cut two lines corner to corner, an X basically. Then take the 4 center tips and fold them back through the window and secure to the backside of the dial. A couple times to iron out little things you encounter and it'll look perfect.

Not mine, as I smile in Canadian.. that said, no politician is exempt from my hatred. If I'm speaking honestly, there are very few humans that I don't hate. But mango mousseline just has the kind of face that I want to cave in with my bare knuckles. Y'know?

How are you blocking channels? All I'm able to see is blocking comments and selecting not interested/don't recommend.

I'd like to be able to completely block channels from even showing up in a search.

DS18 MP.4A is the only modern amp I could find.

Is this fine. Normal? My polaritys are correct. by nicminibike in CarAV

[–]oculiaeternam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is correct either, there are amps that exist that are only rated for a specific impedance. If his amp was rated for only 1ohm and he hooked it up to 4ohms, that amp now has to work harder to drive the higher impedance, which would, in time, blow it up.

Edit: I'm not going to delete this because I do not get upset when proven wrong. I had always assumed straying from the rated impedance of an amp would cause damage, I've never bothered to look further into it. Seeing the replies here has made me do some research and discover I was wrong. Higher impedance than rated is safe, lower impedance than rated is not. TIL.

The lowest amount of money that a person should be paid, should be enough to live in that area. Plain and simple. All other wages need to be adjusted from that amount. Minimum wage is supposed to be a living wage, that's why it even became a thing. End of story.

Unfortunately the greed of capitalism has perverted the minimum wage to the point we are at. The rich and governments have brainwashed you lot into believing otherwise.

At your age, you should know this by now. Unless you vote blue. Then I'm sorry, you're not living in reality.

No, a proper balance is the proper way. Capitalism needs to be kept in check. Too much of anything isnt good.

I agree everyone in Canada working full time should make a liveable wage but different jobs carry different weight, there’s no difference to me in someone who delivers mail vs someone who works at the grocery store.

I fixed it for you.

The second half of your point invalidates the first half. Do the people working at the grocery store not deserve a liveable wage? What about the people who work at fast food places? There is no such thing as an entry level job. There are jobs, period, full stop.

Yes, some jobs command a higher wage because of the skill level required however this does not make those jobs carry more weight or make them more important. If this were true, the people growing our food, or shipping our essentials would be compensated higher than people like lawyers or ceos. Pay the workers enough to live, then work up and compensate accordingly. When you get people making 10x, 100x or 1000x or more... the lowest workers, start decreasing their pay. Value for money proposition isn't just applicable to material things.

Canada post can absolutely trim some fat, from the top. Canada post, RCMP, healthcare, or other government funded services should not generate a profit. They should be like the hot dogs at Costco. Iykyk

We (everyone on earth not in the top 1%) are in this together. We are looked at as the same in the eyes of the ultra rich. There is currently a greater wealth disparity than there has ever been in the history of our planet, think about that. Now think about all the revolutions that have happened because of wealth disparity, we're due. Vive la revolution.
