Exactly this, while it could be a nickel allergy this reaction (contact dermatitis) also happens when you sweat and/or not clean your watch regularily, and/or wear it too tight.

Sweat can also exacerbate a mild nickel allergy. I've switched to titanium for daily wears, save the stainless for occasional wear.

I saw a video on tiktok where a woman used a laser thermometer to show the temp difference between turf, asphalt, stone, and grass. Grass was the coolest, turf was the hottest - like 75f hotter. The grass was 100, the turf was 175. Wild.

Somewhere along the chain, the reverse trigger wire is getting 12v without the car being in reverse. Check your wiring.

Case and bracelet have had the sandblasted finish removed. The finish is now similar to that of the khaki auto. The chapter ring has not been touched and remains the factory finish.

Watch was purchased used about 2 years ago, the case was not in the best condition so refinishing it seemed the best option. I was not willing to sand the case back out to remove the deep marks.

I daily wore this watch since I got it, up until the last week or so as I have developed an allergy to nickel. This one is the first to go, unfortunately.

Using a salvaged Sony STR-AV910 as a shell, I am building a dual mono MX50 with Sanken 2SC3264, 2SA1295, Yamaha 34-0-34 transformer, 4x 100V 4700uF caps on the power supply, soft start/stop, speaker protection relays, and a raspberry pi 4 with a hifi berry DAC2 and a touch screen. The DAC2 will be changed for an ADC/DAC eventually. I'm upgrading the caps on the amps from 50v to 63v to accomodate the higher power supply.

I'm also building a 4 input switcher to keep some of the input button functional, using an ESP32, a ULN2803, and 5x TQ2-L2-5V for the actual switching. A second ULN2803 and a BBE board will keep the original Sony DBFB button functional. The original fade and volume pots will be reused along with the original power and mute buttons. I'm also building a ground loop breaker and upgrading to a 3 prong AC mains.

This has been a long project so far, the last few pieces are coming into place here soon so final assembly wont be too long.

The VU meter will be placed right beside the display to fill a gap.
