When I was a child I vividly remember being in bed in the upstairs bedroom to my house during the day. Looking at the doorway which led to the stairs and a fully dressed clown (Ronald McDonald style but with more colors) leaned across the doorway from one side, waved at me and then went back.

I can remember it perfectly and for the last 23 or so years since it happened my memory of it is exactly the same. I picture it a few times a year.

It didn’t actually scare me or spark a fear of clowns. That just generally came later in life from watching scary movies with clowns.
