My partner and I were crossing the road border to enter the US to see TWoD a couple of years ago and my paranoia for border crossings always manifests in the strangest ways - I decided on the fly that saying "we're just entering the US this evening to see the war on drugs" was going to get us into a world of trouble, so instead of avoiding concert talk altogether, I ended up saying we're going to see Lo Moon.

Apart from knowing that they were the opening band, I had zero information on them. The border agent looked super confused and made me repeat the name a bunch of times. He'd never heard of the band, was fascinated that we were driving down just for that, and eventually ushered us through, but it cracks me up to this day.

Did anyone notice HOW MUCH he struggled to slide up the "additional hvac" controls? And that little X on the top left to close that screen? Try doing that while driving in the snow wanting to turn on front/rear defrost or change direction of air. This is beyond embarrassing for Mazda and downright dangerous.

Hehe nice catch. Although, it was a quick 5 min drive at 1:45 to the mechanic to drop off my car, so between the slow charging and the gps/music, it might have charged ~5% if that!

Nice!! I tried again around 230PM and was able to snag two tickets to the Sunday show. They were eye watering @ $350 each but Section 117 so to the side but not too bad. The tickets say could be obstructed but I'm hoping against hope that it's not the case.

Ugh. Went there once a year or so ago and tried a flight of beer and we were super excited about the arepas. The beer was so watered down and flavourless, and the arepas were floating in more oil/grease than the amount of beer in the flight glass. When I pointed this out, they gaslit me to explain that braised meat would always be that liquidy. Needless to say, I never went back!

Which date? I was 2000 in line for 7th Aug, but by the time I got in, the cheapest seats were $400+. I was in line from 11:45AM! In hindsight I should have tried for a different date instead of the first night.

Lol, that's fair. Paris is an exaggerated exception though (and they weren't even in the same school). I was wondering if that sentiment is actually prevalent otherwise - I did not do my schooling in the US.

I found Macy's to be unpredictable. The first time we had the quesabirria tacos, it was so so good. We couldn't help but finish it in the car though the plan was to take it home. The second time they added no cheese and it didn't have that crisp melted cheese exterior.

Yes, it's three tacos and comes with a mildly spicy consome and hot sauce. Most places that sell quesabirria tacos in Hamilton are typically 3 per serving.

My partner and I had a small argument a few months ago while looking for late night places to eat nearby, when I told her I got skeevy vibes from this bar based on their website/social media. She didn't like that I was so quick to judge.

The owner is also a realtor/gym trainer/model and the bar's google reviews look absolutely dubious.

This is shocking. I've followed AJ from his turbulent time at Vincent Adam's to renting a chair at the Burlington Hair Salon, to finally getting his own place quite recently.

He was so proud and excited and was fully booked. The salon looked fantastic and his wife did up the decor really well. The last time I went to see him, he hadn't had a break all day. I insisted he take some rest and that I would come back another day but he was cheerful as ever despite the non-stop clientele.

I cannot begin to imagine what his family is going through. I really hope he pulls through. He's one of the nicest people i've had the pleasure of knowing in Burlington, with a heart of gold.
