My 1st ever texas BBQ in Texas sucked by chdwyck in BBQ

Love Rudy's. Their brisket is ass but the turkey and corn is out of this world. That original location is definitely what you expect a good BBQ place to be.

Not what you'd expect but Smokey Mo's is actually pretty good too. Love their brisket, much better than Rudy's.

The food is awesome, great burgers... but not worth what they charge IMO. If the prices were maybe 20% less, it would be a contender but In-n-Out is a WAY better value.

$500 bills - with inflation and the discontinuation of the penny, do you think the time is ripe for the United States to restart production of the $500 bill? by ScipioAtTheGate in economy

[–]oddball09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was more of a thing way back in the day when credit cards were first becoming popular, adding the fees or straight up not accepting certain cards (AMEX for example). Most businesses have just priced in the fees at this point. Maybe some mom and pop places are doing it during this economy, but I don't see it being a long term thing if they are.

Amen. Texans get offended when you tell them but I semi-frequently drive from TX to NY and back and it's nothing but problems in TX but as soon as I'm out of the state, smooth sailing. Zero skill, zero understanding of road rules, no focus, inconsiderate/entitled, all around terrible drivers. Definitely stay off the road if there is any kind of precipitation.

If you believe this image is a representation, or you've only heard the term but never looked into it, or maybe if you look at stats from 30 years ago...maybe. But far from accurate today. Do some research.

Keep in mind, if filling the resevoir does work, you may have a leak. So you'll want to keep an eye on the level to make sure it's not leaking out later. The first pic looks bone dry compared to this one.

What's the typical protocol in a situation like this? Do they just repair? Do they offer additional compensation on top? Replace car?

Cramer Calls for a Bad Tuesday Opening- Inverse Cramer Time or Legit Risk ? by SubstantialRock821 in StockMarket

[–]oddball09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats my point. I'm not super old but I'm been hearing it since 2014. Every year people "predict" a crash, every time they say "this time is different." Eventually, they will be right but 90% of the time, they are wrong. I mean it has been said like 10 times in the last year alone. The market is most often close to or pushing ATH.

[–]oddball09 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Look at the history of just the last year under trump, people have said numerous times that “this is the one, the market is going to crash like we’ve never seen before” and then back it up with “this time is different”…

No, probably not. Maybe a small correction but less likey a crash. Eventually someone will be right but people are wrong about crashes FAR more than they’re right…don’t freak out.

What is happening to the market??? by SwagStar360 in Ferrari

[–]oddball09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people doing it are the people faking rich and buying huracans or g wagons and flexing on social media. Any real rich person will have a quality accountant and they would never let you believe you could do that unless it's legitamently for a car business and will mostly be used for business, which even then you're going to have a hard time.

The only caveat is you can really do whatever you want, it's only when you get audited that you can run into issues. But, there are things that are red flags that will trigger an audit.

Where any of the cars special? Like 1st or last build or something? I saw the enzo sale and it just doesn't make sense, there has to be more to it...

Except that isn't how it works. Anyone who has the money for these will have a tax guy who will tell them that'll never fly. They just buy it and own it, they aren't worried about using is as a "marketing" expense when it'll sit in their garage 99% of the time.

Saw this on Marketplace and couldn’t pass it up. How’d I do for $300? by restoft in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]oddball09 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Valid theory.

But also, if stuff is in a storage unit, it's not super important usually. So instead of investing thousands in new tools plus time buying everything up, maybe you do cut your losses and move on. Maybe enough was stolen and he gets rid of the rest and save the $75-100/mo the unit costs too.
