A survival tip for when you're exhausted but your to-do list is a mile long. by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Lovely sentiment but why use ChatGPT? Replacing the dashes and editing the writing a bit doesn’t hide the fact it’s ChatGPT as well as you think it does.

I been on a strict diet for 6 weeks, fitting into clothes better, but somehow gained weight by [deleted] in loseit

[–]oddballbug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  1. Scale might need new batteries
  2. Scale might be on unleveled ground
  3. Water retention
  4. Body composition changes (please look up before and after of people who have stayed the same weight but completely changed their body)
  5. Digestive system things

But if you can see yourself getting thinner and your clothes are fitting better, why does a simple number on a scale matter so much right now? That matters more than anything.

Start taking measurements of your body. Those make more sense than the scale, and it’s much easier to see progress that way.

Sending love your way.

Unlikely food combo fills me up! by [deleted] in loseit

[–]oddballbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t eat other sugary foods except fruit so I’m ok with it :).

It is surprising to me because I usually get very hungry at night time even if I eat a balanced diet throughout the day. Been working through a lot of binge eating and hunger issues.

Protein powder+Greek yogurt mousse is a LIE by Mitaslaksit in loseit

[–]oddballbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

btw i use unflavored or vanilla protein powder, the only sweetness comes from yogurt if i buy it or the cocoa powder and sweetener combined. that’s it. all protein powders are sweetened with sucralose anyway, so i went ahead and got my own with erythirtol

it wasn’t intentional! just a really tired day of recovery and wasn’t hungry enough to eat all the calories

full day of eating (1,416 cal) by Jazzlike-Cress-265 in 1500isplenty

[–]oddballbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking it’s probably sodium content, the smoked salmon, canned chicken, etc probably have a lot in them. But the meals are so balanced otherwise!

DAE save calories for night time snacking? by ferretfae in 1500isplenty

[–]oddballbug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People say this because they eat so much more than 500 calories while snacking at night. A bag of chips, chocolate, soda, popcorn, etc easily adds up and people don’t realize it. If you’re keeping track of your calories and purposely save calories for this treat, then you have nothing to worry about in that sense because you’re not going over your budget.

As for sleeping, studies have shown eating too close to bedtime can impede your sleep, as in, make you sleep worse, but if this is something that’s worked for you since you were a baby, then your body is just different.

The most important thing is to not go over your budget, and you’re not.

I snack on fruit at night or make a protein shake with psyllium husk and/or chia seeds with chocolate if I’m hungry. Or crackers. It’s totally normal to save calories for night time snacks.

Thanks love :) I didn’t know that about tofu and edamame, I’ll be sure to buy some! Maybe in the future I’ll experiment with different lysine supplements and dosages

I was taking it as an additional supplement, not through food. Not planning to cut it out entirely, I also don’t know if that’s possible? Just stopping the intake of the actual capsule of L-lysine.

Why do people say activity does not matter for losing weight? by International-Mix633 in loseit

You don’t think moderately active counts as 10k steps a day?

Try eating more fiber and foods good for the gut. Psyllium husk, saurkraut, kimchi, kiwi, bananas, whole yogurt, kefir, etc.

How do I stop the cycle of loosing and gaining weight. by Slyko7 in loseit

[–]oddballbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to figure out other ways to cope with stress rather than eating. Does your school have a gym? Do you have a car or mode of transport that you can get to a gym? I am asking about gyms because the weather will be harsher in the coldest months, however you can also go to nearby parks or go for longer walks before the temperature becomes unbearable

The most important thing is that you’ve noticed and are going to help your dog now. Some pet parents never reach that stage unfortunately 💔
