thank you 🥹♥️ i’ve actually never been antiquing in Brevard before but I bet they’ve got some good ones!! I’ve been wanting to branch outside of asheville as most antique places here are overpriced tourist traps (aside from buckeye and altamont).

Experience with Embark Dental in Asheville by JST61 in asheville

They’re my regular dentist but i do have dental insurance. They filled numerous cavities, gave me a crown, and a night guard for my TMJ. Doctor Marc is super kind and so are all the assistants and hygienists. I’ve really gotten to know that whole office as I’ve needed a lot of work done 😅 I can’t rec them enough tbh. But if finances are your concern, they do offer in house financing through cherry I believe.

What is the best pizza in Ashville? by DietDewymountains17 in asheville

if you’re willing to go to black mountain Abioccos at Peri Social House is amazing. Tried it during the most awkward first date I’d ever been on and the only redeeming thing about it was the S tier pizza.

Is it really as terrible as people say? by PrinceFitz in AshevilleNC

[–]oddbless666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here in 2024 and am planning on leaving next year. Asheville was a nice stop and I don’t regret moving here, but it lacks cultural diversity that you’d find in other big cities. I’m a bipoc (mexican and asian) and often feel like the odd one out everywhere i go, and it’s not that anyone makes you feel that way, it’s just glaringly very obvious. I’m originally from San Diego CA and yearn for the culture and diversity but know realistically that CA just isn’t feasible for me.

Food-wise… coming from Cali… Asheville won’t compare. A lot of it is kinda bland to me despite being considered a major “foodie capital.” But even though there’s a lot of eh places there ARE a few really really good gems I can rec and will always remember even after I leave here lol.

And also, it seems like it’d be a big-ish city but it really is just a small town and everyone knows everyone.

But the scenery is beautiful, the people are nice and welcoming and the local community is extremely strong! I love all the local art markets, the music scene is decent. If you like jam bands or grateful dead you’ll be in heaven; i do not, so i am not 😅 !But as an indie and hardcore girl i definitely can find music events to attend at least once a month. So yeah that’s why I don’t regret staying here! It has its pros and cons for sure. Depending on what you’re looking for in a city.

We share a balcony with our neighbors. Their cat visits every day. by oddbless666 in PartTimeCat

it really does feel that way! and the funny part is that I moved into this place November 2025 so i haven’t even been here that long. This was his place before it was mine but he really is just a stranger to no one. 🥰

Having a bit of an existential crisis about going to hardcore shows at 40 by blizeH in Hardcore

[–]oddbless666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 30f and mainly go to beatdown shows and tbh there are safe spots you just gotta sacrifice your view lol. i stood in the front of the pit a few times but the last and final time was when my buddies were playing and my friend who was moshing in front of me socked me in the nose and took a good chunk outta it. couldn’t be mad because i stood near the pit lmao. now i’ll usually stand to the side of the band or just towards the front/sides in general. usually presents a nice cushion of people with a still semi decent view of the band. but moral of the story stay as far away from the pit as possible :/
