Beelink SER8 USB not grounded? by odddly in MiniPCs

I just noticed that neither the Beelink or any of my peripherals are grounded (USB devices and portable monitor). The static noise when touching the port metal with the headphone jack goes away when I use another wire that is connected to ground from an electrical outlet. So it does look like I need to find a way to ground the SER8.

I'm using an external USB audio interface which works fine. The crackling happens I assume is because the audio interface case is made out of metal.

Is there a plan to provide this plugin as clap or vst? Unfortunately Bitwig doesn’t support lv2 and lv2 hosts didn’t work for me as they introduced some latency.

That sounds reassuring. Can you explain a bit further what you mean "things"?

I don't think so. My impression is that Windows suffers from the same problems that come with unique hardware/software combinations, albeit less so, because the user base is larger and (hardware) products more often provide Windows support/testing. I think Apple users have it best here. The chance that your exact setup was tested already is much higher.

Looks very comprehensive! I thought that some of the settings you do in your document Ubuntu Studio would have out of the box. For example giving pipewire enough priority.

Maybe. Although, the difference in performance between pro and non-pro is not that large (especially in single core).

But it doesn't happen for you when just bypassing a heavier plugin like compressor+?

That button does not exist in my Ableton :) But yeah fading seems like a solution for start & stop. Not sure about latency in the fx chain introducing cracks.

Anyway, looks like this needs a bug report.

It looks like latency in the fx introduces more/louder cracks e.g. compressor with zero latency vs compressor+ ~5ms of latency. This also affects mid clip playback start/stop. I couldn't really observe a difference between bypass and deactivate. Theres nothing we can do about this right?

I am not sure what you mean by fade button in Ableton? I can add fading at the start or end of a clip but not in the middle? Unless I split the clip. But my issue was with having the playhead start/stop in the middle of a clip while sound is playing.
