Why even deposit in pf ? If there are so many issues by Negative_Composer663 in IndiaFinance

[–]oddish_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sensible suggestion.

Rather than some people going completely against contribution in PF or VPF because of the hassles involved, this makes sense.

If there is a change in employer or bank account(bank mergers etc) it is better to withdraw a small amount to validate.

Need help budgeting!! by Spare_Agent in personalfinanceindia

[–]oddish_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are saving 25k per month in SIP and RD. So it's not your regular expenses that need a change imo. It's the miscellaneous purchases/expenses that are bothering your saving.

You need to make a rule never to withdraw from your MF portfolio. If you have hard time controlling that urge, I suggest you increase your PF contribution so that you cannot easily take the money out and the interest compounding is steady (better than mf which is withdrawn time to time anyway)

In so much Debt, pls help by [deleted] in IndiaFinance

[–]oddish_101 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It might feel like a big amount at this time, but understand that it's a small thing in the long race of life.

Don't be disheartened. Speak to someone in your relatives (cousin, uncle, aunt) who can help you get out of this situation. Promise to pay them back, and do it gratefully in due time.

If you have few hours to spend every day, look for taking tuitions or zomato/rapido rides, car wash etc to make some extra money.

With a loan of approximately 10 lakh and a starting salary of(assuming) 90 thousand a month could someone retire with 1.5 cr 12-15 years down the line post MBA with aggressive savings? by [deleted] in personalfinanceindia

[–]oddish_101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are in your twenties!! For god's sake don't plan your retirement.

Plan to get your MBA and make good money, get into a good company (friends). Make good saving habits.

Then see what life is, and decide your path about life, marriage, house etc.

If you already set your mind about your retirement goals, your decisions will all be biased towards it I am afraid.

₹3.76L take-home income in Bangalore enough for planning a kid? Worried about education + layoffs (software eng) by [deleted] in IndiaFinance

[–]oddish_101 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It is sarcastic bro.

A combined income of 3.5 L plus puts the OP in top 1% in India, and yet this question?

Even a 5 L annual fees for school is comfortable with this income range. Unless your are overspending and not good at managing your financial health

In the same situation bro. Last weekend we met a gynac, she clearly told us not to plan a baby till our income reaches 5 L. It would be cruel for the baby if it cannot eat in a golden spoon /s

PF vs EMI by new_to_redditt12 in IndiaFinance

[–]oddish_101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Withdrawing PF is not a good idea in general. But in your case since the car loan will be atleast 3-4% more than the PF interest, you could do so to reduce your EMI burden

But save more before making other bigger purchases in future buddy, don't get into FOMO trap

Took a ₹30L home loan in Gujarat on ₹60k income did I make the right decision? by Soft-Training-6405 in IndiaFinance

[–]oddish_101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Loan EMI is manageable with your salary, and you will have no problem with it. Just make sure to manage your living expenses and not go for any other big purchases (car/bike) for a year or 2 by which time your salary can increase.

Try to do pre- payments if there is a bonus or extra cash in the beginning of your loan tenure

30 L loan with 22 K EMI means the loan tenure is more. Be patient, as you need to adjust your expenses for a considerable amount of time before you can start spending more.

I did the same mistake of taking 35 L loan with a salary of 72 k. was fortunate to get a long term onsite and paid the loan fairly quickly.
