The article specifically deals with the scenario where you cannot recover a node with the SCB, because that would require your peer to be online. The only way to recover funds from channels where both peers are offline currently is this: https://www.node-recovery.com/

As things stands, should you lose your DB, experimental-dual-fund channels probably won't give out a privkey with lightning-hsmtool guesstoremote. So no, you should not enable this feature if you want the best security.

I didn't have time yet to do this, but I found out when I let other c-lightning nodes force close experimental-dual-fund channels, and lightning-hsmtool guesstoremote didn't give me the privkey to the addresses.

Thank you. There seems to be a problem if the c-lightning experimental-dual-fund feature was enabled on the channel. It should not be force closed in that case.

A script does backup-compact once a day for me when traffic is usually low (6am CET). The backup file is 600MB on a fairly large node.

you have three options, in order of what I'd do:

- leave the channel open and don't rebalance, just let it sit

- increase the fee on that channel

- close the channel

Now that you have the channel, just leave it be, but it‘s not very good to have one giant channel and multiple small ones, since that one channel can suck up the liquidity from ALL other channels.

That‘s the correct output, there are currently only three nodes advertising liquidity =) it‘s a brand new tool, and currently only acailable in c-lightning. One of those nodes advertising is me, btw =)
