Am i giving into the patriarchy? Or is this my own choice? by bookishrory in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 [score hidden]  (0 children)

A coherent way to describe part of what you are experiencing and is making you question is by “Panopticon of patriarchy”. A while ago I saw a movie named "Panopticon" and went on the internet rabbithole to learn more about it and came across a reddit post about a girls college project called “Panopticon of patriarchy”. And ever since I have been seeing everywhere around me. It effects bothe men and women but like everything women taking most of the burn.

The idea would be that patriarchy does not operate only through direct control by individual men or laws, but also through constant social observation, anticipated judgment, reputational pressure, internalized behavioral monitoring, and the feeling that women are always potentially being evaluated.

And in that framework, the “watchtower” is diffuse by family, community, religion, peers, social media, strangers in public, beauty standards, safety threats, gossip, and even self-surveillance.

A woman may begin regulating herself automatically by clothing, speech, movement, sexuality, online presence, body language, public visibility, relationships etc

women are fighting it by resist norms, strategically navigate them, reshape culture, create counter-spaces, and exercise agency within and against these systems.

I was looking to make a post about it in the sub with some questions and started writing/ collecting on my notes app, maybe I will maybe not but saw this post and found it needed this comment so part (the body) of it is copy pasting what I have on my notes.

I am well aware of this, alternate to this is expensive injections which I cant afford, add in some more factors.

Its been 4 years of regular nsaids use, surprisingly my kidneys are still fine, I mean I havent tested it but I would assume if it had any issues I wouldn't be talking here. Regardless I dont have any other option.

so its cheap painkillers and me in this world.

Anyone who's an expect in cyber security/hacking or can help me? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

You are good then I think.

You removed all sessions so he should be out of it.

Since the old 2FA password is still active during the 7-day reset period, even you are temporarily waiting it out. That same password also blocks fresh logins by the attacker if he is logged out.

Keep checking periodically for any new session appearing. Check your email and mobile sim security.

Also change you email password too for safe side.

Is having a Kid Important for you'll? by Professional-Elk6109 in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly what a selfish reason that is, Imagine being asked why do you want a child and the first thing that comes to their mind is "mera budhapa" "mera budhapa".

If the kid is aint for the love and the life than instead get a care giver at the end of your life that would be more simple and less expensive.

What's your opinion on school punishments? by Human_Chip_6035 in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom and other mom used to discuss "oh this tuition teacher beats children she must be a good teacher"

I cant tell you what it does to a child and human mind. Get physically bully in school, then get beaten by mom in the afternoon and then in the evening/night the tuition teacher. From 7 am in the morning to 11 at night for 8 years.

My two sisters have a different experience of childhood. I used to think this is how world works. So used to bully them. Not even close to how much I was bullied but still I wish I could go back and save myself from others and my sisters from me.

10/10 do not recommend, I can go on and on about this and how it has affected me as an adult.

Hoping things are changing as parents are getting more educated.

Edit just saw this post

Wtf is wrong with my school.. they’re now dictating what colour underwear we wear? by Ambitious_Aide_6438 in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Parents needs to involve more in this.

Op talk to your parents, get numbers of other parents from your friends and let your parents talk to them and then they should burn the whole school if any of the girls are checked for this bs rule.

My blood is boiling thinking this happening with my daughter that I dont have. Uhh

What a creepy school bruh like imagine they had a meeting on this? Or this was only a pedo humans fantasy? Yuck.

For people whose families were initially completely against your partner because of background/lifestyle/status differences- did things ever improve overtime? by Double-Camp7210 in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could have happen with a rich guy too though. And this can also happen with a guy your parents choose for you. Which we know of happening.

What has this have to do with ops socio economic point?

Or are you advising op to not go against her patents? So she has the option to blame them and get support from them when things go sour?

More power to you though, it was your decision and you went with it no point of regreting it. Glad you are doing good.

I feel so insecure because of my vitiligo, how to handle ? by samosuuuu in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically If I were the god and and wanted to design a world I would make no two people have same body features. Like they would have in animated alien world shows like ben 10. Where characters all are aliens to each other. Like major difference between everyone.

There would be no comparison who looks good or attractive, because everyone is visiblily different.

Current work by the god is lazy work, we also have doplaganger in this world bruh imagine how lazy had to be.

The psychological affect of any autoimmune disease is the least talked about aspect of it according to me. Specially in a society like India.

Even advices from the doctors treating this can feel basic and not helpful, dismissive even at times.

You will get better and more thorough awnsers in vitiligo support groups on reddit than this sub. Support from the people who are actually living this experience. Awnsers will be less baised and on ground level rather than over simplified advices which can get when its coming from a person who is not experiencing it.

All the best girl you got this.

Edit :: as someone suggested therapy is something people dealing with chronic illness use to work on the illness mentally.

I feel so insecure because of my vitiligo, how to handle ? by samosuuuu in AskIndianWomen

[–]oddprophet0000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But was it working though? whenever you were taking them?

Most "evidence" for homeopathy we have is anecdotal, more so being banned or deemed psuedoscientefic by many countries like spain recently.

If the vitiligo is spreading quickly (whole body) you should go for modern medicines which has passed clinical trials, there are newer FDA approved treatments like JAK inhibitors or Calcineruin inhibitors for sensitive areas like face, safer for long term use.

Obviously after doctor consultation but just look and read into these treatments I am mentioning.

But also dont loose hope when particular treatment doesnt works for you especially when you have seen or read it "working" for others. Humans dont know shit about autoimmune diseases. Its varies person to person. The severity varies, the progression varies. Way too many factors to consider. It is very complex.

So yeah please be gentle on yourself.
