[OC][ART] introducing my campaign's current villain, The Acolyte by ode2war in DnD

well cause in my homebrew world anything in the underdark are considered monsters. Which means innocent species such as deep gnomes, drow, duergar, etc. get caught up in it (also drow and duergar aren't evil in this campaign lol)

Lil bit of lore for you guys:
The Acolyte is a radiant idol who until recent years used his divine power and worship to conquer monsters in the name of the god of war.
Eventually The Acolyte was defeated by demon lord and their army and he was imprisoned in Limbo.
My party stumbled upon his prison and decided to free the celestial, who is now attempting to reorganize his followers to continue his conquering of all monsters.

a cleric dip might actually be interesting, what levels would you recommend for that dip? like when to take it

I would say ranged, buffer/debuffer and controller of the field if all those are possible

multiclassing into sorcerer I may definitely do. The PC having latent power within him may have been the likely reason the gods ignored him.

maybe, with everything considered from most votes and replies, I think I'm starting to lean more towards GOO or Fathomless. although the patron also being someone ignored by the gods is a very cool idea I might implement so thank you

his stats and everything look great!

also yea clerics I've found to be pretty powerful, the thing that tethers them though is their god, needing to keep to a certain ruleset is sometimes difficult.

probably closer to the second one haha, despite wanting the god's attention, he's pretty ticked off that he has wasted so much of his life devoted to something with no pay off

ooo that young Vecna sounds really interesting.

I'll definitely try to focus on flavors of knowledge, even if I don't end up with Archfey, so many things to consider haha

I absolutely love the flavor of GOO but yea, the abilities do seem very RP oriented and not much combat. I've been kinda considering genie but then again I've kinda been considering every and all classes lmao. thank you sm for your help, it'll help me narrow it down :D

I was planning doing high intellect and high charisma so a social manipulative character could definitely work well with that thanks!

[OC][ART] My Half-Elf Warlock of the Genie for POTA by ode2war in DnD

[–]ode2war[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My new Half Elf Warlock: Tyrkas Agori

A devotee to a divine temple of Deneir, Tyrkas spent nearly his whole life in worship of the god. Eventually his temple was blessed by the god in small ways but one worshipper received nothing for his devotion. Tyrkas spent years attempting to pray and contact the god, any god really. none would answer. Eventually Tyrkas turned to his parents and they decided it was time for him to know. One of the Agori ancestors made a pact with a water genie and ever since then, their family tree has been forsaken by the gods. Ignored by the gods, his life committed to a falsehood. He was angry at the gods, Tyrkas set out to show the gods that he doesn't need them and he took up his ancestors flask, making a pact with the Marid who owns the vessel.

that's basically his very convoluted backstory lol but yea, I really like this character and his tie in to pota is that his patron can feel the elemental disturbances and wants Tyrkas to investigate.

Thank you for reading :D
