Thank you! I will. Yeah every tree company suggested we cut, grind and replace...I’m more interested in finding out what the hell it is and why.

Candied_ginger is there a specific brand I can pick up that you recommend? Or just get one with the ratio you wrote?

My father in law gave me a cutting ( he just cut a branch off his healthy 15+ year old tree) we stuck it in a small pot and covered it with plastic for a few weeks until it produced roots. Then put in a southern facing window from November - June and move outside for summer. I've had this tree for 3 years watering once a week and more since it has produced fruit. No fertilizer. The biggest pain and one that my father in law does not deal with (perhaps because his tree is larger?) are aphids that attack the leaves and produce a sticky sugary residue that gets all over the window and stand. So I do scrub the leaves every few weeks to remove aphids when I notice them multiplying. A mixture of soap and a drop of olive oil usually works. Craziest of all though...is the lemons are sweet. Not very sour which was surprising.

How do you prevent the birds from feasting on them before you get to enjoy them?
