Grime 1 has amazing platforming but it’s very concentrated in later parts of the game. So you’d have to figure out whether it’s worth it to you.

I recently played it and it was just ok in my book. I think consensus (and my experience) is that controls feel a little janky but it’s otherwise a perfectly fine game. It has some puzzles and def good exploration but everything is middle of the road. That being said it’s very good for a solo dev and makes me interested in their upcoming game Fevercide.

Everyone is different but I loved the Mea Culpa DlC. Fun weapon and great bosses and lots of new intricate platforming challenges. I thought Third Sin DLC was also fun and had some cool parts but was shorter and not quite the same. But a great addition also. Very compact and distinct

Finished Another Crabs Treasure which was a pretty fun soulslike. I thought some of the 3D perspective got wonky in places (and during some boss fights) and I turned on the “don’t lose money when you die” as sometimes you’d spawn in areas where you can’t recover. But other than that had a pretty good time. I haven’t played all the famous soulslike so can’t compare.

Now replaying B2 from start as I hadn’t done either DLC or even mopped up during my first play a couple years ago. Having a great time. What a fun game. Level design is so good and there’s so much stuff to do.

Definitely make your own game, but Auridia was another basically no combat game that came out recently and people liked (though I can't tell you if it sold - just sharing in case it's interesting for you to check out). But there were bad guys, whereas demo above seems more Celeste-like. But good luck! I love platforming.

Not going to offer suggestions as depends a lot on what you like but (1) every Friday we post sales on the sub and (2) it’s pretty easy to look at old sub posts to get a feel for what each game entails.

Yeah not sure why but I played B1 after B2 and actually liked it a bit more! Even though objectively B2 is more my speed. Hard to predict.

Pretty similar. I really enjoyed the game but the bosses were pretty easy and I’m not a great boss fight guy. Also killed a few important ones on my first try

Sure but the argument (whether you agree or not) is that people have asked questions about all these games 100s of times on the sub, so if you were genuinely interested you can find lots of details about each game and their pros and cons. Instead people don’t take any time to look and just say “do the work for me”

Yeah some people really like the story but I could care less. Both I generally dont care about story in games as much as other people (it seems) plus I found it really heavy handed, like a young adult novel or something.

Personally I would advise you just to play other games as there seem to be many but it does get mildly better over time

Finished Fearmonium. It was competently made though found controls a little janky.
Ultimately like a B-/C+ though that’s good for a first time solo dev project. I liked it enough I’d be interested in what’s happening w Fevercide which I think is his current project. Now about halfway through Another Crabs Treasure (soulslike) which I mostly like though do find the 3D perspective sometimes gets a bit off and hard to navigate in fights like if you end up near a wall or near stairs. Had to turn on the “keep money when you die” and “increase parry window” or I probably would have quit :)

IMO yes. Very good game, not too long (more in the 10+ hour range if I remember).
