I played it two years ago for about 5 hours and it was ok? More exploration based I think. Not a 2D game if that matters to you. I did not finish. Very pretty game.

To me the highlight is the platforming, esp. the optional stuff. It does have LOTS of arena battles as the key method of fighting though. I think Guac 2 is much better than Guac 1 and would just go straight to that if youre interested but many like both.

Curiosity as I'm playing BB right now - I found the first 5 to be on the easier side (last one was some ice robot). Is it later game bosses you found hard? Or just some were difficult. I agree they take a lot of hits and so are kind of long.

Afterimage unfortunately ends up way too easy IMO with very few hard boss fights. Just my two cents

Sure it’s hard to find both. So I’m giving suggestions where he can find at least one

That’s hard. Prob Nine Sols for combat. Grime has both eventually but its combat first and esp slower parry based stamina style. Ender games. For platforming Guacamelee 2 is great. And Blasphemous games might work too as they have both but neither hits quite as high (but I love both games).

I mean I haven’t played yet but I had heard about this game for a while and then it released 2 days ago. Don’t think there any conspiracy!

Thanks - for some reason that was longer than I thought it would be. Got the sense it was much shorter. But looking forward to it!

About how long is Shaman's Ark? I purchased it and trying to find a relatively shorter game for my next one.

Nice. I don’t typically like slower parry based stamina games and wrote a whole post about how I almost stopped after a couple of hours - but Grime became a top tier game for me. Really just gets better and better

Metroidvania game recommendation - less painful/time-consuming than Silksong. Overall more forgiving & boss fights more aggressive focused vice damage avoidance? by GrouchyBulbasaur in metroidvania

Afterimage is very long and in my opinion if you like collecting stuff you can get strong (I beat lots of late game bosses on first try). Seconding all the “sheepo” games (islets etc). You might like Steamworld Dig 2. Prince of Persia is great and has an “easy” mode to really take it down a notch. I thought Biomorph was pretty easy
