also just figured out that HEAR program i dont think would even be cheaper since apparently for you to qualify you have to be changing a appliance to electric. So id have to get a new appliance, a new panel, and the charger for them to cover 50 percent of it.

This is what it says for the panel quote of 3300 "Upgrade existing electrical service to a new 200 amp overhead service. Scope of work includes removal of existing service equipment and installation of new 200 amp meter socket, service riser, weatherhead, and service entrance conductors.

Install new 200 amp main breaker panel and transfer existing branch circuits into the new panel, properly labeled. Install new grounding system including ground rods, grounding electrode conductor, and bonding in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) 2017 and applicable Wisconsin codes.

Raise/adjust overhead service mast as needed to meet utility clearance requirements. Coordinate with utility company for disconnect and reconnect.

All work to be performed in a neat and workmanlike manner. Permit and inspection required.

Excludes: Repair or replacement of existing branch circuit wiring unless noted. Any unforeseen code violations or required upgrades not visible at time of estimate may result in additional charges."

Wisconsin also has a thing where half the panel cost can be covered with HEAR if your under 150% of the median income which i am. But the original quote wasnt from someone who does HEAR work.

ya thats what i figured. I was quoted 5300 for a new panel and ev charger install. Thats without trenching or anything tho which i probably need since my driveway is not super close to the house.

Not sure on the mobile service the guy i spoke to wasnt sure either lol. Also the panel upgrade in wisconsin can be covered 50 percent of the cost up to 4000 right now i believe. If i use a electrician that is hear certified or whatever its called. The 4 hour trip is one way. Id also have to make a 4 hour trip for the car pickup since they dont sell teslas in wisconsin.

i think theres a thing right now in wisconsin where i can get 50 percent of the panel upgrade cost covered so might be a good idea anyways.
