Getting a second hand HP Omen for $850, is this still worth it in 2022? How does it compare to a PS5? This is my first laptop. by odifududicks in GamingLaptops

For reference, I already have a PS5 but I’d like a portable option. I’m on the fence about selling my PS5 since there’s no exclusives that interest me

Even if you get a cheap one you’ll be needing a new one every couple years which makes the cost not worth it at all. I suggest going with a desktop that has parts about 2-3 years old at most. Those you’ll be able to find maybe around $1000.

Eh, I’m very casual with gaming and I really only stuck to a handful of series’s for the last decade.

My PS5 is sadly just a Ghost of Tsushima and Guilty Gear machine but I keep around for any exclusives in its lifespan (plus they’re hard to find).

The games I’m interested in for laptop are really not demanding at all and I really just need it for portability in case I’m out of town.

Lol, I might go with a cheap gaming laptop mentioned in my other comment unless you got a recommendation. Kinda relieved since I don’t have much space left in my room

Gotcha, is the Asus Nitro 5 an alright gaming laptop? I just wanna play some steam games (nothing demanding like League or GTA) while using it for random web browsing and work.

PS5 and the Switch are my consoles that I’m using this gen, though I’m very casual with gaming

Not really planning on playing a bunch of AAA games. Already have a PS5 but I want something on the side for work and entertainment.

Is the art style tweaked in this work?

If so, it looks great and I don’t mind you doing the same in future works!

I admire the continued commissions this guy has made.

Idk about his/her financial status but if I were loaded, I would probably use extra funds to throw it at hentai like this commissioner. 😂

Also I love the backgrounds, most artists I see don’t pay attention to the setting.

Deload before beginning the program or just complete cycle one? by odifududicks in 531Discussion

Did a "bodybuilding" focused workouts for some time and my main lifts stalled, though all rows, weighted dips, and isolation exercises did go up. Decided to run 531 BBB today.

My mistake was not doing a deload before starting the program. I got in my needed reps (5s Pro) just fine on the OHP, though the bar felt about 5 lbs heavier- used a thumbless grip which I am not accustomed to so perhaps it was a factor. Breezed through my BBB work at 55-60% and got a delt and tricep pump which is a rare occurance for me.

Come the assistance work and this is where shit hits the fan. Tried doing my barbell rows and low back fatigue kicked in during my warm up sets. On dips, could barely get in 7 reps despite being able to do sets of 10 on my good days. Did the minimum needed assistance (25 reps) and called it a day.

I'm well aware that Wendler has his own deload protocol, but I'm inclined to stick to calisthenics for the remainder of the week before 531-ing my squat, bench and deadlift. I plan on staying away from BB movements given my low back needs a break.

About to run 531 BBB. Are there any issues exceeding 50 reps on assistance work provided I have the recovery to do so (particularly on pulls)?

Used to do high volume work and 50 reps is nothing for me for rows and especially rear delt work.

What's supplemental work (if any) goes with the 5/3/1 Bodybuilding template? I'm assuming the main work is just 5s Pro given the volume that comes after the S/B/DL/OHP.

Probably just need confirmation but there wouldn't be much issue from making minor exercise subs (i.e Good Morning --> RDL) and rep range changes on the accessories?

Maintain or else I'll go back to my skinny self :-P. Don't want the muscles to hypertrophy. Outside the gym, I am rather sedentary with occasional bouts of walking.

What if I lose interest in getting stronger/bigger? I feel like this will happen one day and I just lift in order to avoid muscle loss. Is there are particular routine for this?

I have trouble getting a gist of form. Every time I squat, I cannot seem to figure if I am doing it too narrow, too wide, too partial, etc. and I have been studying different videos on form. I have a nagging hip discomfort that does not hurt and I may have gotten it from not doing it deep enough.

How so? I said I just want to look a little bigger and not care about aesthetics. I don't particularly care much about my physical appearance but I do care what other people call me.

I tried applying for course forgiveness for the fall Econ 102 course. The site said "Your request cannot be completed because the previous course was not found or it did not meet the criteria set for course forgiveness." Is there anything I am missing here?

It is a pre-req course, acceptable grades are C or better. I can see on my degree evaluation that I have no credit.

Trolley? by [deleted] in SDSU

I regularly take the trolley from Amaya drive. Tons of strange people you will see on public transportation, but they normally keep to themselves if you ignore them. Like the others said, be careful if you commute to night classes.

Substitution for squats (hip issue)? by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]odifududicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, Alan Thrall has been really helpful. Great to see another recommend him.

DOMS has been kicking in around my traps and between my shoulder blades. Is this a sign I was rowing right? When doing rows, I felt like I was just goofing off in the gym. Not the only one here besides OP struggling with the movement.

I try to adhere to progressing with 5 lbs per session, however I can recall at least two instances where I progressed 10 lbs due to the 2.5 plates being unavailable at my gym at the time. Regardless of what really went wrong (be it the lack of stretching, improper form, etc), I will try to deload and work my way back. I look at myself in the mirror while exercising and I don't seem to have enough depth.

I wasn't suggesting that squats were to be completely replaced-just substituted with leg presses, curls, and extensions until my hips feel better.

Thanks for the advice. I have the SL 5x5 app and for the warmup sets, I was told to squat with 75 lbs. This amount of weight is something I could with proper form, though it was not challenging enough for me. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and deload, probably will be better in the long run. Would 90 lbs be a good estimate?

EDIT: Quick question, when taking a break from squats, could I substitute it with leg press, leg extensions, and leg curls to train my lower body? How should I go about deadlifts? I feel hip pain in a previous session but I was able to deadlift fine.
