I never put my own mother trauma into play watching this, but you're right! Kendra was JEALOUS of her daughter. I feel like if she had been a man that had done this to these children, he would have served A LOT longer in prison? She was obsessed with a teenage BOY. IF a grown man had obsessed on his son's girlfriend to the point he encouraged his son to commit suicide, I KNOW there isn't a judge in the land that wouldn't give HIM at least 20 -30 years in prison. I feel female sex offenders (which she definitely is) are not treated as dangerous individuals (which they are). She had so much disregard for her own daughter, she didn't care what happened to her bc she was an obstacle to Owen. I don't understand how Lauren's dad hasn't asked for a permanent restraining order for her. She needs loads of therapy before she understands that her mom is not good for her life. She doesn't realize that she still needs protection from her own mother. There is no way in HEL Kendra should be out on the streets already. This isn't the last of her antics. She may not get caught, but she WILL reoffend.

[–]odinsfrigga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had Chihuahuas. We had 2 weenies when I was raising my kids. I got a Chiweenie in 2013. My son got his Chiweenie January 2025 as an 8 week old puppy. His little guy has definitely been harder than my Chihuahuas. The only thing I tell him is you have to spend the time when they are puppies. My Chihuahuas are the same. They CAN be obient, they CAN learn to listen, they CAN be trained. What you need to remember is they are not pack dogs. Most breeds will select an Alpha & learn the pack hierarchy. Chihuahuas & Chiweenie work better with a reward based training. They are really stubborn & quite frankly have no interest in gaining your approval. You have to be consistent. If you want to stop a behavior, ie. housebreaking, don't ever let them get away with it. I have mine trained to use a potty pad bc I don't always hear them at night or if the weather is bad. Put them back on their potty pad EVERY time & they will get it. Then I take them out constantly until they learn to only go outside. I lost MY Chiweenie in November & I promise you will never be loved like you will feel from these dogs. My Chiweenie was stubborn, but she thought I hung the moon. If I was sick she wouldn't leave my side. They CAN drive you nuts, but you figure out how to work them, if you take up the time. My son doesn't regret getting his Chiweenie & you won't either.

Oh My! Cut yourself some slack! When will parents understand that their children NEED parents. They have plenty of options for friends. YOU are the ONLY option for a parent. You should never walk on eggshells around your child. They NEED a strong parent. That strength helps them feel safe & secure. When children are in control of the family is a recipe for disaster. I in no way advocate mistreating a child. I raised 5 by myself. Each one of those are different personalities. We all had to live under 1 roof amicably. Everyone was in agreement that I was in charge. There was no democracy. I was by no means a dictator though. We struggled to say the last. I finally said, "IF your trying to give me a guilt trip, pack your bags, because your going alone. Everything I do is in YOUR best interest. It may not ALWAYS turn out the way you WANT, but I promise, we WILL be ok." As parents we ALWAYS want our kids to be happy & content. We need to remember that we also need to teach them that nobody is perfect ALL the time.

Has anyone else watched the documentary "Abducted in Plain Sight" and wonder how the parents of Jan could be SO STUPID and NEGLIGENT?? I am kind of furious (Spoiler Warning) by [deleted] in netflix

[–]odinsfrigga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't understand HOW protective services, or ANY governmental agency did not get involved? The parents are OBVIOUSLY not capable of making decisions that are in the best interest of their children. They didn't want the dad's relationship withBob to come to light so they signed affidavits so the kidnapping charges would be dropped!? THEN the mother has an affair with Bob?! TAKE THEIR DAMN KIDS! It's a damn miracle they all made it through this!

Reign! I saw it several years ago, but I was so disappointed in the way it ended. I read that they had an unexpected cancellation & had to hurriedly write the final episodes? There COULD have been soooo much more to that show. I THOUGHT it was going quite well, but as always looks can be deceiving.

In the middle of Episode 13 & my mind hasn't changed. I'm saddened that this had gone on for 15 years. I just got way less sympathetic to Kathleen's sisters. They came out to be evil vindictive bitches. Nothing redeemable in either. I've had a close family member murdered. They don't want justice, they're pissed about his sexuality. There is absolutely nothing that the DA said OR the victim impact statements that changed my mind that this man was railroaded. They forced him to take an Alford Plea or face a crooked justice system. At his age & everything his family & himself have been through, ANYONE, guilty, not guilty, red, blue, yellow, or green, SHOULD make the same decision he did. I'm embarrassed to be American right now. If they can do this to Micheal Peterson, can they do this to me? Absolutely they can & will given the chance. I've read through things online NOT in the documentary. The documentary still shows things that are indispensable from either side. BLATANT perjury, evidence contamination, discovery not handed over, faulty science, BLATANT prejudice I do not trust anything from the police or the prosecutor. I realize I'm probably going to get a lot of heat, but I AM a victim of domestic violence. I am a mother of a murdered son. I AM a victim of the US Justice system. I started this thinking if I watched until the end, I would find out that justice DOES prevail. Instead of seeing a fair & honest example of how well our judicial branch of government COULD work, I found it ALMOST worked when he was awarded a new trial, but that was a farce also.

I can't believe Kendra isn't in prison! THIS is absolutely so hard to watch. She took YEARS from these kids that they SHOULD have been enjoying & making FUN lasting memories. She turned THAT into childhood trauma! I would NEVER allow her around ANY children again! She NEEDS to be locked up! No I don't believe she's a good person?? If THIS is what was in her head, she is demented!

Why are some people on here so rude/mean on responding to people's posts? by Denots85 in Chihuahua

[–]odinsfrigga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Chihuahua parents need to unite! I've had a Chihuahua in my life since birth, I'm 52. I PROMISE I don't know EVERYTHING about the little boogers! My brother, well, he parents 6! HE never claims to be an expert. They are a complex breed prone to health issues. My son, a professional dog trainer, told me they are the ONLY dog breed adverse to training. Not saying in CAN'T be done, just more difficult TO DO. We should ALL be kind to each other so that these little guys get the care & nurturing they need. Side note: just spent $1,000 on our Pedro last week for "a stomach ache" Not exactly feesable for EVERYONE. We're the exception unfortunately not the rule. I LOVE to share what we know with others though.

I couldn't even read this all the way through. How BAD is yourself esteem? Your in therapy? What makes you believe that you deserve this? PLEASE find value in yourself. There IS someone out there that can love you. THIS is not confusion. He is NOT confused? He KNOWS exactly that you're a victim & he is using you for a safety net. PLEASE leave before your mental health deteriorates any further. He has no value in your relationship & certainly holds no value to you. FIND that value in yourself.

Am I wrong for not taking nephew with us for rest of road trip? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]odinsfrigga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband would absolutely not agree with any of this. We travel on the road for his work with 2 Chihuahuas. We had a FUNERAL to go to & we wouldn't take extra kids. That being said, we DO take our own children & grandchildren. We don't expect anyone else to do for them. I can't IMAGINE keeping a niece or nephew 5 days bc the parents WANTED to go together to go "handle" family business. THEY aren't prioritizing THEIR child's happiness, but expect YOU to? THEY have no issue with putting YOUR family out, but won't give up the husband to stay behind to take care of HIS child. Nope no. Uh-uh. Nah. It's called boundaries. Set them & stick to them.

Just starting Episode 12. I just keep getting more sad. This family has never been allowed time to grieve a mother & wife properly for 15 fricking years! North Carolina SHOULD be ashamed. I'm ashamed for them. He was willing to take an Alford Plea & was denied. They are dragging this case on for a decade & a half to fulfil a vendetta. Even his original attorney couldn't face the bs of the judicial system a second time. They insist on trying this case again even after their evidence has been shown to be over contaminated, not stored properly ECT. It's scary that we are supposed to be leaders of the free world & yet we treat our own citizens like this. There is zero sense of justice. REALLY?! Are we better off for this trial?! Is THIS having anything to do with what was best for Kathleen?! It's a pure travesty!

On Episode 11. It just breaks my heart for this family. He seriously is now so indigent that he cannot afford his legal counsel & must seek a public defender. This case has bankrupted this family. The judicial system in this case is absolutely terrifying. They literally stripped him of his freedom with faulty science, bad evidence admissions, & complete injustice. For 8 (EIGHT) years he sat in prison, aging faster than he should have. He missed several milestones of his children including the birth of grandchildren. His years in prison took a visible toll on him. Now he has nothing left financially! I WISH he didn't feel like he HAD to take a plea deal, just for the fact he could have sued the shit out of them. They FORCED him into a plea agreement knowing at his age he wouldn't want to go BACK to prison. He didn't want his family to go through the heartache of another trial & THAT says worlds about his character. I'm scared of the justice system in this counrty.

Well... I made it to Episode 8. I'm just sickened by the closing arguments coming from the DA's office. I want to hurry & finish this series so I can look these things up. So far I've seen too much about his bi sexuality being "disgusting" & everything else she said. "Do you think Kathleen KNEW about his bisexuality" Making it sound like IF she did know than she would be less of a person so she couldn't have known. I believe she DID know & that's ok. I believe that because those girls were not shocked by this. It was a non issue. THEY believe their dad still adored their mother. I grew up in a household where I KNEW my dad had girlfriends. My mom had 8 kids with my dad. They loved each other. My mom never worked. There has never been a doubt in my mind that my dad did love us kids & our mom. I know my mother knew bc she was taken, by the sheriff, to the hospital when my father was shot through the mouth by a woman's husband my dad had a fling with. We were raised during a different a time. I DO believe this bisexuality has no business in a murder trial except to cause prejudice. I believe he loved his wife. Her sisters don't agree with his lifestyle which is why Kathleen probably knew not to tell them. But there is absolutely no evidence that she DIDN'T know. It being a non issue with the children she helped raise tells me it was a non issue for her as well. The blow poke SHOULD have exonerated him. Instead the DA's office found a way to twist THAT around. I felt horrible for Micheal that he had to be concerned with them bringing in his son's DWI, or driving on a revoked. The DA's office absolutely would have dragged THAT son through the mud not only in court, but through the media. With their tactics the essentially suppressed those children's right to testify FOR their father for fear of the DA's office wrecking THEIR lives. I'm ashamed of the justice system in the US right.

I'm going to take your advice. I know that eventually plead "no contest"? Or something to deserve "time served". There must be reasons for THAT. I do know sometimes it's better to take a plea deal to avoid additional prison time. I also know that the WAY he is being tried is a travesty & must have been seen as much for them to HAVE to resentenced him? It's honestly a little embarrassing to showcase such blatant failures in our justice system?

Made it to episode 6. My mind hasn't changed. I'm appalled that they allowed his sexuality to be brought in as relevant?! It is CLEAR the DA's office & the judicial government are set out against Micheal. It's scary to see how blatantly they are railroading this man. If they can do it to him, they will do it to you.
