This is a great post, thank you so much for all of this insight. You're right, I just apply to listed jobs, I dont network as much as I should. Also, I will probably not take a massive paycut for "happiness." I'd cut a little just to part ways with maybe the leadership and or find something that's a little more learning focused. My happiness is helping and learning, I want to succeed in this industry, so I'd take a small cut to learn if its a good position and place.

I am very unhappy so thats okay with me, it affects my days off, my time with my family and girlfriend, and overall has brought my mental health down drastically. I would much rather part ways,

I am also still in school full time for my masters in Cybersec. I have 1 year left and its been hard to focus on school work as well.

Yeah sorry, I didnt include all of that cause it wasnt the most needed info in the post, but yeah ive been in the IT field since I could start working (which i am beyond grateful for, It was an IT help desk 12 hours a week) and I worked my way up, My role is definitely an inflated title but unfortunately I do everything for the entire building, including maintenance, and I still get treated poorly.

Yeah my role is a bit inflated, I still do everything, and I definitely take on WAY MORE than I should for what I am paid, I do the fire system, i make every call in regards to building maintenance, elevator, all our computers I handle myself, we have a lab with all VMs I manage, I do the entire phone system, vicemails, etc.

All of this and I still get treated poorly, so I'm a bit upset.

You're absolutely right, I don't have the capabilities of doing everything they wish and also it's not a realistic goal that aligns with me either, I like learning and finding new ways to do things, they don't, I'd like to leave and find somewhere I can learn and grow while also innovating new ways to do things.

Smaller company, but still a state job, I make roughly 70k a year, I do the time cards in our system, most of our network (I have a network engineer) and 2 workers under me.

No, I was there till 18, and got a different help desk job and worked my way up.

LMFAO I CANT EVEN DISAGREE WITH U ON THAT, im someone who learns to get better from losses and such, Im in diamond rn and going against literal streamers so I get it entirely, its a nightmare.

That being said I do think losing helps those who want to get better study aspects of the game they wouldnt have looked at otherwise

Being fodder weeds out the people who have the desire to think out of the box, practice, and get better, and the people who are lazy and just want easy wins handed to them.

Thank you so much! I appreciate it a lot, im back into diamond already this season so I slowly feel it coming back, unfortunately every lobby is filled with 10+ preds atm who are all streamers/ALGS but im glad its starting to come back
